This month has been absolutely crazy for those snow plow operators at MSP. I hope they get compensated well for the amount that they have worked this month. I saw a news story that said there have been many times where they have to sleep at MSP for many nights in a row because of the snow. Their job never ends!

MSP named best airport in North America for 3rd year in a row
It shared the honor this year with Detroit.
ADAM URENMAR 7, 2019
Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport continues to fly high atop the rankings for the best airports in the world.
The Twin Cities travel hub was named the best airport in North America for its size for the third year in a row by Airports Council International (ACI).
It shared top billing in North America for airports that handle 25-40 million passengers with Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport.
Other winners in the same size category include Dublin Airport in Ireland, Chongqing Jiangbei International in China, and Oslo-Gardemoen Airport in Norway.
The rankings are compiled based on customer surveys, with questions relating to check-in, security, restrooms, stores, restaurants and other facilities.
MSP now counts CBS' Gayle King among its fans, with the TV host posting a video praising the airport's women's bathrooms when she was in town this past January.
"MSP Airport’s consistently high ranking underscores the effective public-private partnerships at the airport and the airport community’s shared commitment to providing the best experience possible for travelers,” said Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC) CEO Brian Ryks in a press release.
It comes after MSP Airport was named the best airport for dining and 2nd best for shopping in the USA Today Readers' Choice awards.

I have always wondered this! Sorry if it is a stupid question, I am not fully aware of how baggage claim leasing works!

IIRC the first two get cordoned off and used for the international arrivals area when Condor, Iceland, and Sun Country international flights arrive. That slight restriction might be why they stick to that one for domestic flights.

Ah! I think I recall this, one time I flew through T2 and there was a wall between claims A/B and C/D. Why would they need to block this off? The passengers and their luggage have already been through customs, correct?

There is a retractable wall that comes down and partitions off A and B into the T2 FIS when needed. T2 does not have its own separate international baggage claim before customs - so that is how MSP handles it.
This what is looks like with he wall down...

First partner a LCC. Any guesses? Thinking SY or F9.

Amtrak is looking at running a train between Duluth and the Twin Cities. Definitely not high speed rail.

It has to be SY, NK, or WN. Why would F9 launch a new partnership with a bus company in Minneapolis? F9 serves less than 500,000 per year in MSP. My best guess is SY as they are based here in Minneapolis.

Minnesota is the launch market for the Landline service as there is a hub in the MSP Airport's Terminal 2. Sunde says there is one other market in Minnesota, and that is in Mankato. He says the plan is to expand to Eau Claire and Brainerd by the end of the year.

Anyways, it appears that DL is going to be opening a new, 3rd Sky Club on Concourse G next year.
Apparently near G17.
Anyone have more details about this and/or some type of expansion to the gate hold area at the end of G?

This seems to indicate it will be SY. It's the only LCC with a hub in MSP, and the only possibility (i.e., not B6 or WN) that uses Terminal 2.

They are expanding the concourse towards the East. I am not sure if they are still on the 2035 LTCP, but these are the latest renderings I could find for the future of the airport...

This isn’t that, per se. This is a sort of half step, building out the “missing” concourse area between the gate pods. If you look at the width of the G concourse compared to the C concourse, you can see that it’s 1/2 or less as wide, except at the gate pods. This will build in some of that space, as far as I understand, allowing for more seating areas in those pods.

Ah! I remember seeing something about that a few months ago. When are they planning to start that?

And potentially include the taxiway between 30L/R so you don’t have to go all the way around.

I saw that this morning! Great news for the MSP aviation market. Is this the aircraft that DL had planned to use on the announced intent to serve MSP-PVG too?
