Seen the present ground and flight tests of UPS B767-300F N365UP with Rockwell Collins Large Format Displays (according UPS spec's), I did some research on the certification requirements of this LDS installation.
First I was looking into the B767 Type certificate.
See : http://rgl.faa.gov/regulatory_and_guida ... Rev_37.pdf
I was surprised to discover that a new 767 sub-type (see VII. 767-300F Major Design Change – Large Format Display System) was created.
Aircraft listed in this sub-type were produced with a Rockwell Collins, Inc. STC number ST01750WI installed during production.
STC number ST01750W see : http://www.airweb.faa.gov/Regulatory_an ... 1750WI.pdf
The first three Fedex 767-32SF aircraft (N101FE-103FE) were delivered with the old Dispay system installed, but wiring changes already included for modification to LDS
The following 767-32SF aircraft (N104FE - N128FE) were delivered with LDS installed, but certified with STC number ST01750W
L/N 1090, N129FE, delivered 24 November 2015 was the first to be certified as factory certified "767-300F Major Design Change – Large Format Display System"
L/N 1180, N365UP will be the first "non Fedex" 767-300F to be delivered as a "767-300F Major Design Change – Large Format Display System" according unique "UPS specification"
