Not gonna say it's going to happen but if Emirates tomorrow said they will buy another 100 frames they would be built. This is not like the 757.

As neither EA or RR will supply engines, seems an extremely unlikely scenario, unless EK funds a new engine option, which is where the whole cancellation arose.

It will soon be.

So within 5 years after closing the line due to a lack of interest, carriers will complain that there is no adequate replacement. And after 10 years of market studies, Boeing will launch a 7107 for the TOM (Top Of the Market) gap.

Curious to see ANA #2 fully painted. I understand that each aircraft will have a slightly different livery?

Three different shades of colours: Blue, Emerald Green and Orange. Here is a link all you need to know about ANA's A380: https://www.ana.co.jp/group/en/pr/20180 ... 425-2.html

such a shame they are stopping building this beast. shame they have shot themselves in the foot building such a good aircraft in the A350 and of course the rival of boeing with the new 777x.

No!!!!
The turtle motif fits perfectly with the plane's form; the "eye" of the turtle fills in the otherwise blank gap in the upper part of the forward fuselage. I imagine a big Honu floating crystal waters, viewed from below with the sun in the background. Just like how this giant plane somehow floats through its own crystal fluid.

I stayed at the Leonardo Hotel on Bath Road across from Heathrow one time and saw many A380s taking off.
Emirates livery is much better looking than this.
But beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so we will have to agree to disagree.

Nah. The way the tail stripes wrap around the bottom of the fuselage on the Emirates livery makes the tail look even taller and therefore the fuselage even fatter and stubbier. It's extremely unflattering on the A380. The ANA A380s are beauties (though they seem to have run out of ideas on the tail).

Good day. I need help finding the delivery flight number of the new ANA A380, delivered on March 20 from Blagnac to Narita. I love the livery.

MSN 263, JA382A, ANA's second A380, just departed TLS for NRT as NH 9398.

I won't go quite as far as Matt6461, but the NH A388s look fantastic and I would be thrilled to see any of them in person. The livery scales the airplane beautifully. Bravo!

I was on the Flying Honu 24 May NRT-HNL inaugural flights both ways. One way lower deck Economy and return upper deck Economy Premium. I will never have enough words to say how wonderful they are inside and out.

My question... How many A380s are left in the production line for delivery (including the orange Honu) before they close down the production once and for all?

When do they expect the last/final aircraft to come out of the factory?

Thank you.

1) I'm not totally sure untill Airbus publishes the June 2019 O&D file, but AFAIK there is the orange ANA and 12 for Emirates back in the backlog.
So 13 in total. But the Emirates 39x A380 => 40xA339 & 30x A350 hasn't been firmed up into the O&D file.
In the May 2019 File Emirates had 110 A380s delivered and still 162 on order. The conversion will lower the Emirates order total to 123.

2) Airbus stated in the announcement of the Emirates A380 conversion that the last A380 delivery will happen in 2021.
I expect this to be in the first half of 2021. I think that the assembly line will close down at the end on 2020.
Leaving painting, cabin outfitting, flight testing and several deliveries to happen in 2021.

Thank you for your answer.

There is still some time but there are not so many left. 12 in the back log for Emirates + the third Turtle is little.

I wonder if there will be other Emirates out before the orange Turtle is out?

I will definitely make the trip to TLS to see the orange Turtle. I am wondering which is better between TLS and Finky/Hamburg for viewings and photography?

This website is a good resource for A380 production information: https://www.abcdlist.nl/a380f/a380f.html

According to it:
  • 2 have been outfitted in XFW (MSNs 249, 259)
  • 2 are undergoing outfitting in XFW (MSNs 258, 260)
  • 1 awaiting first flight in TLS (MSN 261)
  • 2 on the final assembly line in TLS (MSNs 264, 266)
  • 1 awaiting body join in TLS (MSN 267)
  • 4 on order, parts built (MSNs 268, 269, 270, 271)
  • 1 on order (MSN 272)

MSN 266 is for ANA, will be the orange one named Ka La.

Wow only MSN272 hasn't entered manufacturing stage.
And only seven A380's will have to be joined from parts. So FAL might close even earlier than I predicted.
Most likely Airbus doesn't decrease production rate in TLS. I expect they will stow A380's in TLS and XFW because XFW cabin outfitting will decrease in rate to match delivery rate.

Thanks VirginFlyer. I've a function link.

How about trying just http://www.abcdlist.nl then navigating to the A380 page? I’m intrigued to know if others are having the same difficulty now.
