Construction started 5/1 with the closure of a portion of the North Economy lot. It's expected to be completed by 2022 and add 5 gates mainly for American.

Virgin Atlantic has once again switched over to the A330-300 on the ATL-LHR route, but this time permanently for the remainder of time (Unless they decide to change it or something comes up). Their final (And possible) scheduled A340 service was last week Friday on the 28th of June. I know VS are retiring them at the end of this year, while keeping two spares around until the A350s come onboard.

Another day, another time Delta and Ed Bastian want to give Southwest Gary Kelly a big, wet kiss. Damn, I miss AirTran.

Three different Virgin 747’s on the ground. One for the normal flight and two repos from Orlando. Two just took off heading back south.

Where were they parked? The VS Source shows the two flights repositioning from LGW. The next day they flew ATL-MCO-MAN/LGW. I wonder if the reposition flights carried passengers as they had “normal” flight numbers.

They arrived and parked at a gate on the E and F terminals. They were then towed to north cargo where they stayed overnight. They then departed without going back to the terminals.

27R is closed for the next 43 days any idea how this affects loads and aircraft used. Is the A388 capable on any of the other runways as well as any of the heavies. It’s been 97° here consistently

The fifth runway is used by heavies. There’s videos of 777Fs and 747Fs landing on it. Air France May temporarily down grade the flight to a 777 since the summer travel season is over.

9L/27R is a departure runway, only rarely hosting arrivals.

We land those runways always and very rarely land 27R it is used for departures which was my question can they depart on 9000’ to Tokyo in 97° heat in a 777 or to Paris in the A388 etc. I’m not worried about arrivals our only restrictions for those are for 748 and A388 and it’s not length or weight it’s wingtip restrictions on certain taxiways. Over.

The a380 is approved on 9R/27L. That is the usual arrival runway. He can depart as well on that runway.

British Airways has today announced that it will take delivery of its first brand new 787-10 Dreamliner in January 2020, with its first route being Atlanta in February next year. This state-of-the-art, 787-10 aircraft has a carbon fibre fuselage which allows the pressure to be maintained at a lower level in the cabin

KLM also currently flies the 787-10 to ATL. It's too bad the British Airways flight arrives so late, we won't get to see it during day light until summer!

ATL-SLC with the A220 will be Dec. 21 early in the morning. Also I don’t see anywhere where it’s showing daily. But ATL-SEA next summer will be in June.

AF stopped flying the A388 to ATL in late October, it's now scheduled to be a 777-300 for the winter. Maybe they will bring it back next summer.

As far as Virgin, the A330 is scheduled to LHR for the winter, and the 747-400 will remain scheduled for MAN during the winter. I looked at the schedules for June 2020, and it's showing an A330 for MAN, and LHR. So we will see if it changes between now, and then.

Of course Skyteam was not going to allow BA to fly their new 787-10 without responding. I wonder if Delta put an A359 on ATL to LHR route.

Don't forget there is now a partnership between Delta and WestJet. There is even rumblings about a Delta equity stock in WestJet.

WestJet's future in Atlanta may grow stronger and stronger linking Canada to Delta's 1000+ flights a day flight hub.
