13 is a hardstand and not used. There are 33 gates at the BJT and 3 hardstand gates at the ST for a total of 36. Hard to imagine that the airport with exceed 17m passengers this year with only 36 gates.
Why have it if it isn't used?
Also, does BJ have too many gates for its size? I know the number of gates at BJ is going to drop to 29 gates after the next expansion and I don't think they need to cut 4 gates to make room for the bridge but I could be wrong.
Gate 13 was last used regularly when Texas Sky was flying to DFW and VCT. There was also a period when Frontier was ground loading, and Express Jet did their branded flying from that gate. It really only works for busing ops, but the hold room is only large enough for 50-70 seat RJ.
So if we need some remote stands for growth we can have our very own 35X like DCA?
