This is what's been on my mind for some time. I can't wait to see said schedules.

As I posted above DI has already announced they are increasing frequency from 3x weekly to 4x weekly. So just the additional DI flight and 3x weekly A333 from KL alone is a lot of added capacity to Europe if LH and BA remain constant. Are we thinking that BA keeps 777 for next summer instead of 747?

SAT just doesn't have the demand that AUS does and SAT travelers are willing to drive to AUS to catch nonstop TATL.

SAT is one of the top destinations in the U.S. without TATL service:

Runway length is an issue for SAS and getting to Asia or Europe. Less length for takeoff, means less weight, means less fuel means less people.

Wow, rwy 4/22 at SAT is indeed only 8,505' long. Thanks, freerover, for pointing that out. I'm surprised that I didn't notice that earlier, being a GA pilot in the area. And the "shorter" of the two runways at AUS is 9,000', which is the rwy the inaugural BA 787 landed on (35R) a few years ago.

Didn’t BA use the 7,000 ft runway for MSY-LHR once? I feel like I remember seeing that somewhere...

True, though I suspect that was because of favorable winds. MSY's longer (and perpendicular) rwy, 11/29, is just over 10,000' long, so I would guess that the winds were strong and at or near the shorter rwy's direction on these days.

Also got to visit the SkyClub. two days ago, quite Impressive... seems like a investment to me

Isn't Monday after F1 the busiest day for passengers travel?

Very cool. Flying out of AUS this past Monday morning it was a treat to see the DL 753s, Atlas 744F and such. I was pleasantly surprised to find the lines at the TSA checkpoints relatively light, though to be fair my flight left at 09:30 local time.

Which gates did the 753s use? Were they the international gates or are there other 753-capable gates as well?

The departure to DTW just before 08:00 was from gate 8, which I believe isn't an international gate. The one I saw later taxiied in as my WN 73G was departing so I didn't get a chance to see where it parked. I wonder if 753s are able to park at the "tight" gates on the north side. I should look at the paint on the apron for the north side gates the next time I'm there, though if anyone here knows and can chime in, that'd be great.
EDIT: I once flew into AUS on a CO 753 that, surprisingly, parked at what's now gate 24, the closest west wing gate to the curbside, so I'm curious if the gates on the northern side of the east wing can take a 753 as well.

I don't think the tight gates on the east side can even fit a 321

They can; I've seen 321s there a couple of times. I wonder about the 752, but I'm willing to bet the 753 won't fit in there.
EDIT: reply #415 by Wacko55 above has an article with an image of a 321 parked at said gates: https://airlinegeeks.com/2019/10/25/aus ... one-month/

I knew gate 7 could. but I believe that the furthest one can not

Good to know. It's too bad that my next flight out of AUS isn't until 22 December, but I'll definitely make a point of checking the tarmac paint on the tight gates, especially since I'm flying on DL that day.

B6 only uses one gate except during irregular ops. AA will take B6’s current gate. B6 will move to 12. NK uses several city gates throughout the day.

The following parking spots on the East end will accommodate the 752/753; 3,1B,4B,6,8,10,12.

Thanks! So NK doesn't have any dedicated gates and relies on CUTE gates instead, probably cheaper lease?
