Disappointed how they are using Zodiac RAVE. They previously had the Panasonic system so this is a downgrade for them. Zodiac RAVE is a much cheaper and inferior system as it is wireless based
To me, it will always be:
- Bombardier CSeries
- Airbus A321neoLR and A321neoXLR
- EMBRACER ERJ-170, ERJ-175, ERJ-190, and ERJ-195
- MITSUBUSHI MRJ

Anti narrowbody-long range-twinjet gang. Long live the A380 and 747!

Is the seasonal Guangzhou-Lahore route still going to be 3 weekly? I'm surprised CZ doesn't fly to Karachi or Islamabad. Is it because of the one route one airline policy?

I don’t think they’re operating. 737 MAX is grounded now, conbined with the closure of airspace, and such a long, low-yield route will suspend in the way for high fare domestic flights.

CZ did apply for CAN-KMG-ISB with CAAC and secured the flying rights in late 2018, but has obviously dropped the plan due to the new CEO Mr Ma whose arrival at the beginning of this year has reshuffled things a bit.

Big congrats to Wuhan and CZ :champagne: :D

Inaugural WUH—JFK nonstop flight by China Southern has kicked off this evening Jul 10th, operated by B789 three times a week.

Thus WUH-JFK has become the 1st route to US East Coast from central China, and CZ's 7th international longhaul route from Wuhan, operated by CZ's 4th widebody B787 based at WUH, making WUH the 6th airport in mainland China that got nonstop flights to both the East and West Coasts of US.

Interesting stuff about the inaugural flight:

 PLF = 95%, with average PLF for the upcoming month > 80%

 Demographics of inaugural pax on board: not just O&D pax from Wuhan, but also connecting pax from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Seoul, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Bali Island.

 Belly cargo: Fully loaded with mostly e-commerce goods and 600+ kilos of about 2000 fresh lotus flowers in 5 types

CZ chairman Mr Wang Changshun explained why CZ left ST:

CZ enjoyed only limited benefits while being the biggest contributor of cash to ST, in which CZ wasn't permitted to conduct coordination and cooperation with other airlines like AA, QR because of tight restrictions of the alliance.

Mr Wang said exit from ST would boost CZ in going global; stepping back is to better march forward.

Meanwhile, CZ CEO Mr Ma Xulun said "Let us enjoy our freedom just a little longer" in response to a question of reporters whether CZ would join any other alliance.

So it looks like they're alluding to joining an alliance?
