Air Asia ordering 12 additional A330neo and 30 A321XLR. My understanding is this replaces the not firmed up LOI of 34 A330neo.

Airbus August update:
https://www.airbus.com/aircraft/market/ ... eries.html

UNDISCLOSED - 15x A321neo
PRIVATE CUSTOMER - 1x A320neo

No cancellations last month.

Airbus did change up the page a bit, before they only posted the most recent O&D file, now they have all from this year in separate files. This makes it easier to compare if you don't save them yourself every month.

Next to the new orders there were also 47 conversions from the A320neo to the A321neo.

I like the new forat of separate files.

So A32X NEO status now looks like:-

A319 NEO - 36 orders, 1 delivery, 35 backlog
A320 NEO - 3 856 orders, 720 deliveries, 3 136 backlog
A321 NEO- 2 762 orders, 212 deliveries, 2 552 backlog

Total - 6 654 orders, 933 deliveries, 5 721 backlog

A321 NEO is now 45% of backlog

Here are Airbus net orders for 2019 (Jan-Aug)
0 A319ceo
0 A320ceo
0 A321ceo
-3 A220-100
-23 A220-300
-7 A319neo
+64 A320neo
+71 A321neo
102 (+135 A320neo family)

0 A330-200F
0 A330-300
-5 A330-200
+2 A330-800
+8 A330-900
+5

+9 A350-900
+10 A350-1000
+19

-31 A380

95 TOTAL (102+5+19-31)

I would have thought there would be more A321neo orders
28 UNDISCLOSED
20 AMERICAN AIRLINES
10 QANTAS
8 IBERIA
6 AER LINGUS
72 TOTAL GROSS ORDERS
-1 TOTAL CANCELLATIONS
71 TOTAL NET ORDERS

A321 NEO is now 45% of backlog

Using the standard prices the A321neo is only slightly below the A320 relative to the value of the backlog ($ in millions)

A319neo $101.50 35 $3,553
A320neo $110.60 3,136 $346,842
A321neo $129.50 2,552 $330,484

The standard prices don't have an increment for the LR and XLR versions, so I think it is safe to say the backlog for the A321neo is probably worth more than the backlog for the A320neo.

How close are we to the lowest combined order total? If we combined the net order totals at mid-September we stand at -14? Hopefully Boeing can get back to positive numbers by end of year.

True, every order announcement is a LoI/MoU until it appears as firm order in the manufacturers books. Most LoI/MoU end up as firm order eventually though. That is, unless it involves Emirates Airline :duck:

While we had an a.net thread (now closed) claiming Boeing was working on a 6,000kg hike for the 787-10's MTOW, the website Blue Swan Daily notes that the increase is 2500kg and only on the 787-9 with an EIS planned for 2022: viewtopic.php?t=1417135

Anyone know if these 787-10's will be able to handle North American routes like AKL-YVR and if not, how long NZ will keep its 772's on such routes?

Still no NK order? Was supposed to happen this summer, and it never did... Dragging their feet longer will halt their future growth plans because they won't be able to secure any new factory aircraft now before 2024-25 probably.

They can limp along the used market for a bit, but the A319s are getting old and need to be replaced in the next 5 years. Soooooooooo...... What will they do? Short of acquiring another carrier?

Always the same story...all LOI will be again re-warmed, so nothing new. Every phone call, ever visit in China...some nice signatures of jets, already ordered years ago. All populists like these photos and statements, how greatest they are...

So:
"Nothing New in the Far East"..
or:
"The same procedure as last year, Miss Sophie?"..."The same procedure as every year, James!"

The last actual Chinese order is already 2 years old, so that means that it's more likely now that any new announcement will be turned into a real firm order.

But lets keep the discussion in this thread about real orders, MoUs and LoIs and not about potential orders.
