What did they do. Took the nice parts out of it and make it boring? Boring as Lufthansa.

Expect all LH-Group airlines to look the same, makes it easier to swap aircraft by just repainting the tail and the titles.
Don't be a fool, think about what you're writing!

It's a shame. I really liked their "old" livery. It was very Italian, simple yet elegant and beautiful

Hey, surprise surprise, airlines are not there to please us, Airliners.netters, with stunning liveries.
They just have to make money, and if a cheaper, easier-to-transfer-between-airlines-of-the-group livery serves them best, then that's what it will be.

And, o yes, I could be one of the only ones here, but I do like the new livery, just as I like the new LH one. Got used to it, and started to appreciate it.
Just try to do the same and give it a chance... Let it grow on you and judge it again after some time...

What will be really interesting is how Swiss' livery gets revised. That has always been Eurowhite with just red. But they're also (after LH proper) the most premium brand in the LH group as they still have first class on all of their long-haul planes.

At least it’s the same color as the old one and recognizable unlike some airlines, AA the worst

If only it was Air Dolomite it would certainly be a tricked out livery with STYLE!

That's always what pops into my head when I see the name of them, very similar to an old movie for those who don't know it.

LX already revised their livery back in 2012, I doubt they'll do it again any time soon

When I first glanced at the photo in the article, I assumed it was old on top and new on the bottom and I really liked the change! Then I actually read the captions and well.....it’s a change.

I’m a huge fan of Euro white. It looks clean, crisp and more importantly is (anecdotally I’m told to believe it is anyway) cheaper to have. I think it looks quite elegant.

I do also like colourful painjobs too. SarAvia, S7 and fully coloured aircraft can look very classy like American too. But I think American would look just as good in Euro white!

That's what you get when a bunch of Germans start tampering with Italian flair and charm... " Vee must take down all ze zweeping linez Kurt! Ze group colorz must be stantartizet!"

:rotfl: :D

I'm not sure whether this can be called a 'livery' at all. It seems the era of distinguishable aircraft liveries is over. Aircraft nowadays just need a coat of paint to prevent corrosion; white is the cheapest and the easiest to touch up, so that is chosen. Just add some marketing bla-bla and you're ready to go.

It must have been in the early eighties when I first saw an Air France aircraft in their previous livery, all white, with no cheatlines and just a few blue and red stripes on the tail. At that time I thought it was really a stylish and refreshing sight, among all other planes that were still having cheatlines, black noses and a lot of bare, polished aluminium. It was recognisable. I thought the same when Lufthansa came up with their previous livery, in the early nineties I believe. But now, I think more than 80% of all airlines paint their aircraft all white with just titles and a bit of colour on the tail fin. In other words, the vast majority of all liveries now look virtually the same. How people can still find that 'refreshing' is just beyond me.

P.S. I think the previous Air Dolomiti livery was quite poor too, with those pointless lines, so I don't think it's a deterioration, it just shows a lack of fantasy in my eyes.

they have to keep the tail coloured so atcs can recognize planes in airports without ground radars. once this requirement falls, we'll see full eurowhite planes all around... booooring

I'm afraid that will be easy to predict: the tail fin will become all red (with the white cross of course) and this tail colour will be wrapped around the aft of the fuselage, just the same trick as with LH, QF, AZ and so on. The wings and stab will be all-white too, while the 'SWISS' titles will become much smaller. The Swiss flag will be removed from the winglets too.

Let's enjoy liveries like KL and BA while we still can, before you know it they will be 'refreshed' to all-white too.

I wait for the day when LH group planes would have only the tails painted and the rest of the aircraft in primer :D

You're right, I didn't realise that!

In that case, Swiss/LH would indeed need to figure out something else for the tail.
Perhaps they'll just drop the wrap-around-the-tail part and copy LH for the rest.

the last Swiss / Swissair decent livery lasted until the early 2000's...

still, nothing very exciting, really... it was already eurowhite with a chocolate line...
