May changes:
A319: No change
A320: 7 deliveries (Spirit, Air Asia, Lufthansa x2, Huaxia, Peach, Cambodia Airways)
A321: 3 deliveries (Delta x3)

Remaining backlog (includes ghost orders from defunct airlines and others that are de facto cancelled but remain on the books until formally cancelled):
A319:
UFO - 7
Hamburg International - 2

A320:
UFO - 8
Ural Air - 7
Iran Air - 6
Gecas - 5
Mexicana - 4
Lufthansa - 4
Aero K - 2
Peach - 2
Air Asia - 1
Private - 1
CASC - 1

A321:
Delta - 47
UTAir - 8
Iran Air - 7
Wizz Air - 3

The UFOs are mostly real, these are airlines from China, the airline will only be announced, when delivery has been performed.
So let us get rid of the Zombies:
A319: Hambur international is dead, not any more existing.
A320: Iran Air deal is dead (regarding embargo), as also Mexicana (airline cancelled in 2010),
Aero K: still at start and first jet deliverd last month has ended at another airline. So still not dead but also not really alive; but they have recently received a certificate by Korean government, so who knows. So these jets are produced, but still not taken by the airline, instead directly sold to someone else.
A321:Iran Air (deal is dead regarding embargo).

Delta A321’s from Hamburg

Tue Jun 11, 2019 4:52 pm

Hi Folks,
Couple of Questions on the growing Delta A321 fleet
1. Noticed there are two built frames MSN 8822 +8854 sat completed and parked in Hamburg since Late March/early April. Why the delay in first flights and delivery ?
2. Does anybody have info on how the split between Hamburg and Alabama for the remaining a321ceo orders ?

For sure the same reason as the other 45 ceos and neos parked with engines in XFW, but I don‘t why.

Aircraft was delivered to Aero K according OD but (likely) leased to Cambodia. The next MSNs 9037+9122 are assigned.

CASC - 1

A321:
Delta - 44
UTAir - 8
Iran Air - 7
Wizz Air - 2

Took out the suspected "dead" orders and had a look at which aircraft have already been spotted as assembled:

A319:
UFO - 6

A320:
UFO - 7
Lufthansa - 4 (1 supposedly delivered yesterday *MSN8951*, 3x spotted, 8911, 9052 and 9058, order completed)
Gecas - 2 (//Edit: Looking at expected production list, 2 allocated airlines not in this list, 1x Starflyer and 1x VivaAir Colombia, order complete?)
Peach - 2 (2x spotted 8892 and 9081, order completed)
Aero K - 1
Air Asia - 1
Private - 1
CASC - 1

A321:
Delta - 44
Wizz Air - 2 (2x spotted, 8943 and 8950, order completed)

Looking at the website I used http://aibfamily.flights (I know not an official source), I noticed a thing.

Of the allocated MSNs all A320's have an expected French registration for their test flights and for the A321 after the two Wizz Air, they all have a F- reg allocated to the BFM site (F-WZMx).
Could XFW be the first of the Airbus sites to transition to 100% neo production, followed by TLS and leave TSN and BFM to finish the ceo's for their respective parts of the world given that most of the outstanding orders are UFO which are suspected to be Chinese orders and 40+ Delta Airlines to be delivered all from BFM...

It makes sense to transition to NEO only production based on region. It is almost time to finish the EU orders and TSN shouldn't have a long transition. BFM will be making DL planes for a while.

For CFM, the large DL order is a nice cushion to LEAP production. DL went with Pratt for the NEO with a nice set of contractual rights on PW1100G overhaul (as well as PW1500G).

Little update based on a spottinglog from Toulouse at digitalairliners.com:

A319:
UFO - 6

A320:
UFO - 7
Gecas - 2 (Looking at expected production list, 2 allocated airlines not in this list, 1x Starflyer and 1x VivaAir Colombia, order complete?)
Aero K - 1 (MSN9037 spotted at Air France Maintenance hangar in all white with F-WTAM reg. *Testreg was F-WWIU, suggests delivery and then storage? Order complete)
Air Asia - 1 (MSN9130 spotted in full AirAsia colors, order complete)
Private - 1
CASC - 1

A321:
Delta - 44

I deleted all the orders that I marked as "order complete" in my previous post, if the UFO, CASC (Chinese lessor) and "private" orders are all Chinese it leaves all CEO orders for the TSN and BFM assembly lines, transitioning the EU lines in TLS and XFW to full NEO production :)

Point to note:
Sole A320 belongs to South Korea's newest airline Aero K is now confirmed.
Last A320ceo for Peach and AirAsia are now lined up.
Last two A320ceo for Lufthansa are now lined up.
Seems like Chengdu Airlines is behind 6 UFO A320 order, and China Express Airlines for GECAS 2 A320ceo, subject to final confirmation.
Those 6 UFO A319 seems to be for Tibet Air.

Does MSN8892 for Peach still have the good old wing”fences” iso winglets?

Old wing fence. https://twitter.com/Tobias_Gudat/status ... 6047790082

Future A321ceo delivery will be all for Delta. I don't think UTAir and Iran Air will be taking theirs anytime soon due their own reason. (UTAir is financial unstable. Iran Air due to sanctions).

No idea which order it's from, I thought the last Gecas order was for Viva Colombia. I guess we'll have to wait for the October O&D to find out.

Thank you speedygonzales for the update. Great work as usual.

I guess from Sept and Oct numbers, Chengdu Airlines A320 was also from UFO. Removing defunct airlines and Iran Air order, there are roughly around 44 A320ceo family to be delivered.

Iran Air - 7

Thanks again Speedy. Great work.

Deliveries of CEOs seems to average about 2 per month or less.
With some 43 "real orders" in the backlog it willl still take almost 2 years for the CEO production to end.
I can't help but imagine it would be preferable for Airbus (and Delta) to convert the remaining frames to NEO.

While I agree with your idea on DL A321s, there is a fundamental issue, a switch in engine vendor. CFM likes having the backlog to ensure a smooth transition to support from production. 23 more airframes is 46 more engines. That allows CFM to cheaply stock up on parts that are rarely needed +engine casings). For most CFM-56 parts, I will admit production is now a small fraction of demand.

By the way, although the last new A321ceo will only be delivered to Delta in 2021, the last CFM56-5B will already be delivered in May 2020.
