Also do ATC refer to them on RT as BEA or BOAC? “Line up after the BOAC 747 / BEA A319”

“Line up after the BO-AC 747 ahead” was the line on Sunday. And can I add my voice to take this opportunity of great PR and heritage being appreciated to do SOMETHING with G-BOAB before it’s too late.
As I have said before I was never Landor’s biggest fan but seeing ‘NLY freshly painted in her original livery and me armed with a 21st century Digital SLR, well I can pretend to be the teenager that clapped eyes on those B747s back in ye olde 1990s one last time.

Love the lettering behind the cockpit.

Is that a matt black anti glare under the cockpit windows?

Could someone please tell me what is that white square with the circle inside of it which is below the cockpit windows? I've seen this on all A320 series aircraft and I've always been curious about its purpose.

I was not planning another trip AKL-LHR so soon, but I am thinking about it as soon as all 4 are painted.

Wow looks amazing, thanks for sharing. The Landor livery was such an elegant livery and looked best on the 747, 757 and of course Concorde.

Another great job BA and the paint shop team in Dublin.

The window configuration in Zone A is different to how the livery originally appeared...

Presumably one of the few times an aircraft has been painted in a retro livery that the aircraft itself wore at one point?

Embraer 195 in this would be appropriate. Brymon Airways conceived the idea of a STOLport in central London, was a BA subsidiary for many years, and Charles Stuart (CE) was the chap behind the idea of the British Airways Shuttle service. Be good to see this back at City again.

Would be great, maybe paint G-LCYY as needs a coat of paint. Sadly it won’t happen but I will certainly appreciate the 3 retros we have so far and G-CIVB when back in 10-12 days time.
Also the Landor scheme looks great behind in photo, especially those 75s.

At least the livery now matches the interior!

Looks fantastic though, better than BOAC in my opinion. I never got to see any of these retro liveries fly (maybe Landor but too young to remember), so can’t wait to hopefully see all 4.

Maybe Rolls Royce no longer supply them ? The Icelandair Glacier scheme 757 respray is also devoid of the RR logos on the nacelles.

I was never a fan of Landor back in the day and am more looking forward to seeing the Negus scheme on the next retro paint. I do admire all the enthusiasm shown for this project in general though. Well done BA and as others have said, hopefully all this love of former liveries can influence BA not to do an IAG bland Eurowhite effort when the time for a new BA branding comes along.

Yes and if you mean the actual airframe wearing it's old livery in a retro guise then I'm sure it must be ? BA claimed the same when they painted 757, G-CPET in retro Negus livery back in 2010, but of course G-CPET never wore Negus when it was the 'current' livery.

The BA 'Blue Peter' 757 dispensed with the blue underbelly too. But in this case I think the poster above was referring to the current proliferation of white fuselages versus more interesting liveries of yesteryear...
