It looks like UA is increasing SBN-ORD to 7 flights a day starting this summer. Unfortunately all flights are on single-class regional jets.

SBN-ORD is literally the market that a single class RJ makes sense on. There is no tangible benefit to a passenger to sit in first class on that flight

Tell that to AA. 2 of the 4 FWA-ORD AA flights with significant premium customers are on two-class CRJ-700s.

Considering the number of 2 class RJs at AA vs UA, that’s not a surprise at all. It would be better if either SBN or FWA could get a majority of flights off a low preforming carrier, but as long as OO has MX at both places, it won’t happen.

OO does overnight maintenance at SBN on their DL Connection CRJ2's as well as the American Eagle CR7's that overnight in SBN. I've also seen an American Eagle CRJ7 parked on their maintenace ramp.

With the traffic up at SBN, Delta may initiate a CRJ9 or B717 mainline flight in the morning to ATL next year. Both Delta and the airport are talking about a 717 flight. Delta want's some ramp improvements which finally will get started next spring.

As far as AA goes, AA is still looking to add a PHL R/T at SBN. ORD flights are not even on the radar however AA did add an ORD flight during the ND VS USC weekend to handle the overflow traffic.
