O6 GRU-JFK MAR 1.0>0.6[1.0]
O6 GRU-MIA MAR 1.0>0.7[1.0]

I thought O6 had cancelled all intl flights?

Surely someone put up an Incentive right? The airport had been trying for a SLC link for a while iirc

I doubt it. A lot of service has been added to SBA, SBP, and MRY in the last two years, and I don't think any of them are subsidized. The Central Coast has been a big hole in DL's western network for a while.

Hopefully SBP isn't too far behind. Passenger traffic there is booming now that they have a modern terminal, and the farther distance between LA and the Bay Area means people there are more likely to want to fly local.

Central Coast airports do have incentive programs for new service.

SBA was setting up a service incentive program back in 2016. Santa Barbara pursued a SCASD grant to match local funding but did not receive the grant. I believe they set up a locally funded program instead.

SBP used a revenue guarantee with SCASD grant funds to attract the Alaska Air service. Those flights were successful and never required drawing on the revenue guarantee (the SCASD grant funds were returned to the Feds). San Luis Obispo has now created a $1 million locally funded revenue guarantee program along with marketing funds and fee waivers for the startup of new routes.

MRY had an Air Service Incentive Program for new routes that was scheduled to expire in 2018. I have not heard if the airport extended or renewed the program.

Interesting. The service from SY and F9 seem a little iffy, but the new adds from UA, AA, and now DL seem like they'll stick. UA increased frequency on DEN-SBP and brought mainline back to SBA from time to time, so it seems like they've figured out something that works.

I’m excited for DL service between SBA & SLC. Just curious do we know times and days during the week these flights will happen?

Enilria: No UA?

I’m seeing his weekend OKC-DEN went to 6x in the summer so was wondering if there were any other UA changes.

Yeah, "AUS gettin all the Love... SAT, nuthin but snubs". Gotta feel some sympathy for San Antone, they are trying their best but just can not seem to get any takers. I suppose being some 75 miles south of Texas's "hip-n-trendy" mecca, makes competing for air service rather difficult. I was sad to hear that AC was pulling SAT, they put a lot of effort into getting this route

I know SBA was offering incentives for new service before they got the most recent 3 carriers, but IIRC it was for something farther east like DFW/IAH/ORD...DFW ended up being launched without any incentives similar to SBP.

Wow, the long rumored return of the widget to SBA!

SBA has been on a real streak in the past couple of years, picking up mainline service from UA and AS. AA had mainline service for a bit, but I'm not seeing it on the schedule now.

Also the return of Frontier last year, and the addition of Sun Country.

I would bet on Delta returning to MRY before adding SBP. Though it seems that SBP is growing rapidly:

I had no idea that some commercial flights are now operating out of BFM. Maybe the CPE is cheaper than MOB.

If it's not there they had not changed it when the data was captured.

9 daily DFW-MSY...wow...an all time high. Three of those will also be A321s, which is a first for the route.
Spread hope like fire.

It's definitely a hiccup for San Antonio. The airport surpassed 10 mil pax in 2018 (up nearly 1 mil year-over-year). I would imagine AC will be back if the airport pax growth rate continues. FWIW, AC dropped Austin initially before finding its footing.

Good to see this go daily after being summer seasonal weekend-only last year.

SBP is really doing great. I think they learned from SBA's mistakes by building a more modest terminal that still has a lot of space for today's passengers and future expansion. The old terminal was a dump and was quite a hindrance to airlines adding more service. MRY is now looking to replace its terminal, which is of similar vintage and quality.

I was a little surprised to see AA add DFW-MRY before SBP, though SBP ended up being announced a few weeks later. Wouldn't surprise me to see DL return to one or both soon.
