New England Patriots arrival... Delta TOC? video

Tue Jan 29, 2019 12:06 pm

I was just curious having stayed at the Atlanta Airport Renaissance dozens of times, I have witnessed the arrival of many sport team charters arrive and deplane at the Signature ramp with several buses and police escorts. Was the Patriots arrival at the Delta TOC for security purposes or is this normal??

There was an agreement between DL and ATL to handle both teams at their TOC regardless of the operator. IIRC just about every available inch of parking elsewhere at the airport is claimed or otherwise spoken for; there’s at least one airline that will be hard-standing a couple of live revenue sections on the Signature ramp and bussing to the terminal.
Tiny, unreadable text leaves ample room for interpretation.

The odds of the Patriots using the Delta TOC were said to be 28 to 3.
Wake up to find out that you are the eyes of the world
The heart has its beaches, its homeland and thoughts of its own
Wake now, discover that you are the song that the morning brings
The heart has its seasons, its evenings and songs of its own

I know when the Super Bowl was in IND, one of the teams arrived at the Republic Airways hangar. I don't remember specifically which one, though.
Good goes around!

The teams are already in Atlanta. They did a media day last night. Both teams will be leaving from the Delta TOC after the game is over. We just got an internal email saying TOC3 will be off limits on Sunday.

Neither flew on Delta. Patriots flew on their own plane and Rams flew on an AA 787.

For some reason, the Patriots B767 does not ever show up on flightaware.com.

The Pats 767 (AirKraft) shows on Flightaware as UDG (Call sign Underdog) followed by a number. Through the season it was a 2 digit number, the flight Sunday was UDG344. no idea of the significance.

The flights do indeed show up but just a generic 763 entry. This past Sunday's PVD to ATL was posted as well. Possibly back to Providence if they lose and likely to BOS if they win.

Just to be sure . . . this is not facetious? UDG is really the Pats call-sign? lol if true.

Yes Underdog is their call sign. It has been since preseason.

In the Pats video, there is an Air Force (presidential) plane parked. Is that a 757?

UDG/UNDERDOG is assigned to Team 125, Inc.

Which is the company which operates the two B763 aircraft owned by Robert Kraft.

Simply fantastic! The Pats don't miss any opportunity to find even the most minute edge.

I remember during SB 45 in DFW ..... both team charters ( Packers and Steelers) arrived at the AA DWH hangar and were actually towed
inside and the hangar doors closed before the players disembarked due to the crummy weather we had that week.

I think it is one of the 737NG's they operate. DL does the C checks on them as well as some of the Navy P-8. I think there is one of those in the shot also.

Can’t wait for Brady and Bill to retire and the 3-13 seasons to start.

There's both a P-8 and an C-32 parked on the ramp.

I know DL does do P8 maintenance for the military, as it’s based on a 737, probably does C32 work also since it’s a 757.

When I worked for the original Midway we did the checks on the DC9 for the Federal Government

Well those of us "of a certain age" certainly remember those seasons, but remember that the Pats were 11-5 the year that Brady was out with an ACL injury. Now when Bill goes . . .
