SOOO glad they didn't chose a new livery. That paint scheme is such a regal classic.

Technically they didn’t order them as they are leased from AerCap

OK, see it now. No sump-drain in the exhaust cone = Rolls Royce.

The MS livery should fit nicely on the 787-9 body. Can’t wait to see it when it is completed.

Does this mean the 77Ws leased from GECAS will be replaced by these incoming 789s?

What a risk from Egypt Air to choose RR after all the problems their 787 engines had over the last couple of years... or it's no longer an issue?

One would assume all new built RR T1000 have the latest modifications and updates.

Also it’s highly possible they may not have had a choice since they are leased.

They’ll also be getting 15 A320neos soon and they ordered those with CFM.

But then they have 12 A220s with PW 1500s

So not sure they’re going for commenality here. Just what ever is the cheapest most likely.

Will we see a new business class product? Any idea why BCN was chosen-seems odd to me...

If you are going to have a new business class in 1-2-1 configuration

I wonder the same ! practically the B789 replaced all the routes of the B77W, until now the B77W will fly to CAN, NRT and one of the daily flights to DXB, apart from that MS ordered an extra A330, but I imagine that these B77W will be returned to their lessors, or at least MS launch new routes to IAD, YUL, EWR, KIX, SIN or KUL

I’ve read they wanted to replace their a332s first with the Dreamliners. But things could change. 3 of the 7 a332s are already cargo or in the process of conversion.

I’m thinking they’ll still deploy the 77w to the same routes but now they have the flexibility of changing from 77w to 789 per demand since the pilot pool is going to be the same for both types.
