Australian pilot writes "I'm bored" in flight path

Mon Feb 25, 2019 1:40 pm

The pilot for Flight Training Adelaide, flew out of South Australia’s Parafield Airport after he was given the assignment to run the aircraft’s engine at a specific power setting for two hours. As the plane got closer to Port Broughton, northwest of Adelaide in South Australia, he wrote the words ‘I’m bored’ on his tracking device, and apparently, not only that. Upon closer inspection, the note revealed something a bit more cheeky – two small phallic-like symbols stood proudly below the words.

Interesting news. Can't imagine what he had to go through with the ATC to make it happen.

Depending on the airspace he was flying in quite likely no ATC involvement. If it was Class G then it’s uncontrolled and they can fly any patterns they want pretty much.

Also happens to bored Navy warships in the middle of the Arabian Gulf in their patrol boxes.

Conning officers, scribble words/pictures of things on the DRT trace by driving the ship around.

If he had stuck to the letters it would have been only funny, those extras made it seem a bit off. Perhaps he was inspired by the 787 test flight in 2017?

Considering the "drawings", are we sure that isn't supposed to be an N?

Ironically, probably a lot of time and effort went into the preparation and execution of that flight profile, that the pilot did not have any time to be bored, at all . . .
