Hello everybody,
I recently discovered this video on YouTube and I just can't figure out what could have possibly happened for that helicopter to lose control. It first seems like it slipped to the side somehow, but as you can see in the video, the pilot still manages to take off again. Though for some reason he can't gain altitude and bounces off the ground I think two times before crashing. I tried finding information online, but it seems like it's barely been reported, even though there were international tourists on board. What do you think happened?
The video is quite graphic and shows the minutes after the crash in a very dramatic way, so please be aware of that.

This is incredible footage. Tried to Google this specific accident to find out more but nothing came up. Glad everyone survived! (Per video description).

Oh, wow, yeah...that's crazy! Everything and all starts rolling all over the place the minute the capsize! no wonder there were 4 seriously injured people...It's miracle there were no casualties! they were all just sitting there, as if they were on a park bench! Crazy!

How can anyone seriously answer your question regarding your comment ''And why does this video have so few views?''
It wasn't half as dramatic as I expected it to be especially after a slow start and it could have been a lot worse if the helicopter actually crashed whilst it was still in the air rather than on the ground as seen in the video, perhaps that's why it has such few views.
Most of these sort of helicopter missions in remote areas of the world use older variants of helicopter with no appropriate need for seat belts, it's not uncommon.
At least there were no casualties involved even though some suffered injuries.

This video could easily have many hundreds of thousands of views, obviously it just hasn't been discovered

Thin air, potentially gusty wind conditions, and very rough terrain to land on. Those are difficult conditions.
The KG 24 articles linked above and others on the same site suggest the helicopter was pushed sideways by a gust. I suppose it might not have had enough lift to spare for the gusty conditions and settled down next to the spot they intended to land on, leading it to tumble. Thankfully it wasn't worse.
It also sounds like the tourists were not supposed to be onboard. I wonder if the crew was bringing in some money on the side.
They have seat belts, but that doesn't mean that people actually wear them when they should. Example of another Mi-8:

Not really a crash into a glacier. Landed in landing spot, assuming reflective device seen out window post landing woukd suggest to me. Then, teeters over and rolls . Glad no one was killed. Part warning of video a bit much. I would hate to be the person disturbed by what I saw here.
