Interesting. I would have thought they would fly out of Abbotsford because if the lower costs.

Granting of slots? Since when is YVR slot-controlled?

At least a few years. According to IATA's website, both YYZ and YVR are Level 3 slot controlled. The only Canadian airports that are Level 3 slot controlled.

I wish them success. However the livery , the titles looks very similar to easyjet with the front of the aircraft looking like Norwegian .

With all due respect, posting a video, announcing who your pretzel provider will be, the list goes on is not clear and tangible evidence of a real airline. Get some airplanes, sell seats and operate some flights. This soap opera has been going on for years. If they approach operations the same way they approach the start up phase these guys will be in a world of hurt. They move at the pace of snails. They sound promising but they better get their shit together or the incumbents or some other startup are going to have them for a snack before breakfast.

That's a bold livery. Hopefully it'll appear on a real aircraft as opposed to a desk model by the end of the year.

The French equivalent of the slogan is "L’avion à moindre coût et à moindre mal" = roughly "The plane at less cost and less bad".

At least they've removed those silly fantasy route maps from the website.

What is everyone’s issue. They signed a deal with smartlynx. Smartlynx operates the plane and the crew. They have the planes and waiting for Canadian transportation to get AOC.

Oh no! I really liked the old livery :hissyfit: Well, at least they decided to change the slogan...
The old livery looked professional, but the orange just doesn't feel right. The rear fuselage looks like a black version Virgin Atlantic. The only thing I like about this livery is the tail.
But who knows, maybe I'll grow into it.

That slogan is pretty much the opposite of reality. Might be time for the marketing team to do a sober second thought.

Now that you mention that, I can see that you are correct. You know what? Why don't we just come to the peaceful solution of having no slogan?

Well, Air Transat is relatively small compared to AC and WS. I meant an airline with 100 planes, or at least approaching 100 planes. Granted, WS isn't nearly as large fleet wise as AC (less than 200 for WS, over 400 for AC including subsidiaries for both). Basically, a WS equivalent.

They’re both good. I like the new one even more...even if the slogan is lame.

Orange-CP used to say “orange is beautiful” and they were right!

In other news, Procyone (an UAE based investment comany) will acquire Smartlynx Airlines holding company...

Change of ownership of the company that is supposed to magically make this all work does NOT seem like a good development for Jetlines.

4.5 months now until their latest (10th?) start date, and now authority to sell tickets, no AOC. A few months ago I still figured it was 50/50 that Jetlines would get off the fround. I give them maybe 15% now. The share price lately suggests that the market agrees with me, too.

Their weekly press relesases and (now) publicity stunts are getting them no closer to reality.

JL

PS Before Blueknows accuses me of being just another hater who just doesn't want more competition: I am (most regrettably) a Jetlines shareholder!

My advice to you would be to limit your startup airline investments to the ventures that chronically successful startup airline investors gravitate to.

I can assure you that none of them are based in Canada.

Jetlines was a stupid idea when they were circulating NDA’s in 3Q 2013 and it remains a stupid idea in 3Q 2019.
