Did you even read the article? Neither airline was mentioned. How on earth did you come up with the idea either airline was looking at Valdosta???? The article makes it clear that it’s AA. Most likely CLT, because according to the article, regional jets can’t fly more than 500 miles. Who knew?

Reading is fundamental.

Instead of typing in "mods", consider using the report function.
Love how every "travel blogger" says they will never fly AA/Ethihad again and then says it again and again on subsequent flights.

Since they'll be doing a name change (whether it's a change in the actual name of the company, or adding another DBA to what they have already) they'll likely start as soon as the DOT approves it.

What’s the rush? They don’t have a fleet yet. It’s a pandemic. The timing of the recovery is still uncertain. They have a ton of capital. Why announce until you’re out for sale and tip what you’re doing to competitors?

Perhaps they need to provide links to information about their product without you needing to go on a mailing list.

Weeks? It will likely be a year or more. There's no upside to launching an airline now. There is excess capacity everywhere. Leisure markets are being catered to exclusively as business demand is dead. The fastest way to burn through cash/capital would be for them to start operations now. Late 2021 at the earliest and likely pushed well into 2022.

It's either high quality or low fare and basic - he needs to decide which.

Choose two.

David Neeleman does it with Breeze and he's a genius. The guy who led some of the best ROIC in the industry does it and he's criticized. Got it.

I'm guessing because Levy's investors are impatient. They'd rather get started, operate and lose boatloads, then wait, not fly yet, and retain as much intact funding as possible.

Never underestimate the stupidity of those who always throw money at such ventures. If they're geared to start this spring/summer, it's going to be interesting what the aggregate demand looks like by then.

There's no information to give! There's no fleet, no routes, no pricing, no ability to buy tickets. With an email address they can give prospective passengers info when there really is info.

Want to address some things people have mentioned here.

"They have no fleet". They currently have 2 Boeing 737-800s with a third on the way. They probably won't commence with more than 5.

"High Quality and low cost can't work". Just because you advertise high quality doesn't mean you're actually going to deliver. No brand is going to say "We are delivering poor service". They'll likely be Frontier in quality. As long as they don't go as low as Spirit, they'll be fine.

Spirit’s quality is much better then frontiers on almost all levels. Spirit has the reputation is does because it’s much bigger then F9 and more relevant in key markets.

The avelo logo looks like horizontal pointed arch doorways and designs you see in old churches and Islamic architecture. Or just me?

My best guess on what the log is supposed to emulate is an exhaust side of a jet engine?

Whatever it is, its at least somewhat artsy. The Breeze Airways logo is a poor font with a check... Whatever those arches are emulating, they're far better than that weirdly fonted "BREEZE" and its bland check.

I'm guessing LA will be their first destination. Second likely an east coast or easterly destination. No idea how they're going to startup with 2 aircraft.

Indeed, the first two have been registered according to Planespotters.net as N802XT and N803XT: https://www.planespotters.net/airline/Avelo-Air

Thought I would play around with the logo and create a few concept liveries. I'm not a designer by any means, just a bit of fun! I missed that their fleet would be 737's and not A320's but didn't want to go back and change it.

Looking forward to seeing the real livery!

Very Close. Take 3 remove the wish ones from the fuse, then the wishbones on the tail from number 2 but only on the tail not on the fuse, mat the vstab purple and from the tail to belly the purple will curve down and forward from the rear door to the bottom of the fuselage end at the button straight down from where the 4th window or so from the rear door is forward of that curve is white aft of it purple. From photos I've seen on fb.

I wonder how many destinations Avelo plans to serve out of KBUR since it looks to be at least a focus city with the amount of hiring they are doing.

Looking forward to it. BUR is pretty much synonymous with Southwest for us locals but a lot of people would like to see other cities served from the airport. I was bummed when Sun Country announced SNA but not BUR. Would love a non-stop to MSP for purely selfish reasons so I can go see family without enduring the trip to LAX which can be as long as the flight itself!
