Why not Medford to SFO on UA?

Why not have ALL passengers fly through KSFO and dropping flights to KDEN. The "Frequent Flights To San Francisco" service will work better.

This is for United Airlines passengers, by the way.

Cus if you have enough people going east to fill the flight to Denver why wouldn’t you offer it?

B/c many cities to the East is served better from DEN than SFO? Just looking at a few airports (i.e. IND, CMH, CVG) in the Midwest, the frequency to DEN is usually higher than SFO (which is usually single daily flight).

Plus you can fly to LGA via DEN. Can't say the same thing about SFO.

SFO delay prone. DEN is not and offers more connecting opportunities

Just to add to the case for flying East...

"We're looking at bigger cities like Dallas and Chicago that on paper make a lot of sense for us but it's still a little difficult for the airlines to pull the plug because they have other major cities that they could be putting this equipment in," added Brienza. "[The grant is] dangling the carrot out there."

Brienza said the airport is looking to add more cities to its flight list and more airlines. He said the grant will allow the Medford Airport to pay those airlines if that service to a specific city doesn't make as much money as planned.

"We're hoping not to spend a dime of it but it's really nice to have it in our own back pocket to present to them when they are considering possibly two cities similar in size and which city they are going to go to. We can say we have this money for you to mitigate your risk," added Brienza.

Plus, god forbid, there actually might be a person or two who are only going to DEN and would most likely prefer a nonstop.

This is funny. Similar markets are getting Chicago service this summer.
