United has over 500 RJs flying for them. 300ish of which are the CRJ-200. I don’t have the exact numbers but they can be found on UAL’s 10k report.

I see no reason why the 772A's wouldn't get repainted. They were just retrofitted with new lay-flat seats and 10 abreast in economy for longer domestic runs. They aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

What is UA's strategy for their fleet repaint? Will they take a cost-effective approach like WN and take a really long time or will they go for an AA/AS strategy of painting relatively quickly?

Planespotters is not correct. I've been pushing them to make corrections but have not been able to make significant headway yet. Use the Fleet Site instead (https://sites.google.com/site/unitedfleetsite/home

Fair point, I wonder how much flexibility Boeing and United have for a UA exec to say "Hey, why don't we shuttle these Maxes down to AMA in the meantime and get them painted"

What I wonder about is the CRJ-550s that G7 is getting, I would expect those to be delivered in the new colors.

Those are the already operating CRJ-700's they are flying now - Yes, I would imagine while they go through the interior change, and the re-cert, they would be painted.

Considering they are essentially new aircraft, I could see them *not* doing this because it would be more financially prudent to wait until they needed new paint.

Considering that it’s a refresh of the existing livery, I’d assume that they won’t be in any hurry to repaint. In the cases of Alaska and American, they had both just merged with other airlines and had aircraft flying around in the liveries of airlines that didn’t exist anymore, so repainting was more of a priority for them. American finished repainting the legacy US Airways aircraft long before they finished the ones that already said “American” on the sides.

Well, based on the Skywest announcement today, I think we found the additional frames to get to the 50 operating and 3 spares.

up at Boeing, with another Max 9 fresh out of the factory but unpainted.

That's correct! I also remember hearing painting will pick up again at the end of the summer so we'll start to see the rest of the fleet follow suit.
