There is doubt on N36962 being painted at VCV... it’s scheduled time there seems too short (5NOV) :scratchchin:

Fleet website said N676UA will indeed be the first widebody in the new livery.

No way they are painting a 789 in less than 10 days. I would expect the first one to take no less than 2 and a half weeks.

Earlier this week, I saw a photo of MAXs parked outside of the factory. There were two 737-9s in UA colors. One on the old livery. One in the new.

Matt Cawby posted a pic dated 11 Nov of UA's latest 77W rolling out of the
factory and into the 45-04 paint hangar.

We should see the new livery on their biggest aircraft very soon :)

The 763ER in the new paint is the best I've seen yet. I think the bigger the plane, the more the scheme stands out.

I agree... UA's new 777W should be a real show stopper when she's rolled out of the paint hanger at PAE
in a week or two :)

Regarding N36272, the Star Wars bird:

Yesterday (Saturday) afternoon around 1600, I saw her in person for the first time, at IAH gate C3. She was preparing to fly to SFO as UA1700.

The photos you might have seen don't do justice to the sublime beauty and detail of the paint-job executed by the good folks in Amarillo -- really nice to see up close. And although I know that the images of the tie-fighters and x-wings adorning the black fuselage are decals, it was hard to see any lap edges. Even the stars covering the entire plane are themselves remarkably detailed, some with jagged sunbursts.

Extremely high-quality, and very well-done.

There was a continual flow of people on the ramp taking photos, including HPD. Later, when I went upstairs to get some food from Wendy's, which has large panoramic windows overlooking that gate, I noticed many, many people taking pictures and commenting on the aircraft's beauty. It was the the red, right-hand side facing them. Even some NZ pax had found their way over to partake of the gorgeous scene.

When, eventually, she departed for SFO, her blue-on-black left side shone in the late afternoon sun.

A very popular scheme -- no negative remarks from anyone I've heard.

N37298 SKD out of AMA UA2750 @1930.

No replacement scheduled at this time. Not sure if the KLM 777 arriving there Thursday has anything to do with that.

SO MUCH BETTER ON A 777-300! Brighter!

At least when she lands or is parked alongside other international airlines UNITED will look fresher.

I did wish that some of the finer details of the Polaris cabin made its way onto the livery. PriestmanGoode did a lovey job with the finishes and detailing.

I had this idea of every WB with true Polaris seats, would carry a small Polaris star that would twinkle over the globe! Just a wink!

I loved the livery when it was revealed but it is ungrowing on me.
The cheatline in Hemisphere blue is just wrong, the titles are awkwardly and differently placed on each aircraft type.

UA has 6 or 7 AirBus at LCQ, all for non-paint reasons. For the time being LCQ will most likely remain 76 paint while AMA sticks with the A3xx and 73x.
