The plane, an A343, has already landed safely in Isfahan and will leave for BOM in a short time.

Some news websites are crazy reporting the aircraft has disappeared from the radars

Sounds like a medical emergency. Hope everything is fine with the passenger.
Many happy landings, greetings from The Netherlands!

Pressurization and/or air circulation issues, as per RTL (French radio).

For all the folks who just like me have no idea nor obligation to know where on Earth Isfahan is (It's in Iran):

Then they have fixt it quite fast. 1,5hours to fix the plane and get it on it's way again sounds very fast. Kuddos to the Iranian ground staff.

While Iran got some Airbus and ATR a/c recently, I am surprised such skilled technicians are available at small airports too

Many A340s are based there with Mahan Air, so engineering know-how isn't an issue, though Isfahan would get A300s and A310s more than the bigger beasts :)

Obviously safety is # 1 and if you have to land urgently, you have to land.

But I wonder would avoiding Iran have been a priority for them? What if the plane was stuck at Isfahan and they had Jewish or Israeli passengers on board who are not allowed into Iran?

Just curious.

And now the plane is in the air again, but is flying to DWC instead of BOM. It is close to arrive in Dubai at the moment I am typing. I have no idea if it’s flying empty or with the pax. I am guessing that they have made a quick fix in Iran and will make the full repair in Dubai where they have access to more facilities.
Do you think DWC instead of DXB is because of the runway restrictions in DXB ? Because otherwise, I would have expected AFto fly to DXB where they have ground staff.

Space. DXB is packed. So if this aircraft goes tech and sits there for a week, DWC is a better place. Also the ground staff can always easily cross the city to meet this flight.

No different than anyone who doesnt have a visa. They'll be held "airside" until a replacement aircraft arrives and picks them up.

How are they planning to get passengers to BOM?

If the pilots timed out are they bringing an AF crew from DXB to fly the return? I do not see a rescue aircraft coming from Paris there are 2 airframes on the ground at CDG.

France has good relations with Iran so there is no reason to avoid the country.

Come on, now your put your personal twist to it. The article says:
After checks, the plane then flew to Dubai where the passengers are now waiting to get connecting flights to their destination.

The passengers may not like the flights they were booked on or complaing about not getting a hotel for another unplanned 10-hour stopover in their odyssey or not like how they were treated in general.
But being left stranded is something else.

Head over here: viewtopic.php?t=1410665

And listen to the interview with the NW DC-10 pilot from the thread: http://www.flightpodcast.com/episode-4- ... nto-tehran

You will learn two things:
1. It's not that bad.
2. It's folly to think an airline can fly over a country and never end up landing there at some point. Murphy's Law will conspire against you.
