Re: Air Transat tentatively schedules last A310 service in 2Q20

Having worked around these A310's for the better part of 4 years at Air Transat I am kinda sad to see them go. I liked the stubby looking airplanes. Just checking my old records and I have 7 A310 flights, 6 on Transat and 1 on SATA Air Azores from YYZ-LIS in 2015. In total I've flown C-GFAT (DUB-YYZ | YUL-YYZ), C-GLAT (DUB-YYZ), C-GTSF (SXM-YYZ), C-GTSY (YUL-YYZ), and C-GPAT (VCE-YYZ). My last A310 flight was March of 2018.

I flew on C-FDAT (unfortunately twice the same reg) on YUL-CUN-YUL in 2013. I was upgraded in Business on YUL-CUN. First and only upgrade as of today !

That was me. Thanks. Sad to see the A310s go.

The captain called up at the tower early in the morning to let us know it was the last flight out of YUL. I didn’t speak with him on the phone, but he was a bit emotional apparently. Understandably so. The spiel I gave was the least I could do.

The weather was crappy, or else I would have suggested a VFR fly by over downtown at low altitude. Too bad.
us Air Traffic Controllers have a good record, we haven't left one up there yet !!

Nice tribute you gave there.

At least we still have the RCAF 310s. Those are most often seen at YTR followed by YOW and YEG. Several years ago I saw one at YYZ and was surprised to see it pull into a loading bridge at T3.

Awesome! Nice job, definitely too bad, the fly by would have been epic.
