I think that the livery doesn't do justice to the whole rebrand work.

The website (https://caboverdeairlines.com/) shows a real new brand identity that i find really refreshing and suitable for an island like Cape Verde.

But this livery is just meh, the tail looks like it have been cannibalized from another aircraft

Well that's a poor job. The idea behind the colors I can understand: blue for the sky, turquoise for the sea and sand color representing the beach. But why the grey for the upper part of the tailfin and winglets? The execution could have far more elegant.

+1.

Just one nitpick: Cabo Verde is not an island but a group of islands. Some are absolutely gorgeous, others perhaps less attractive. But as a whole a very enjoyable holiday destination with very nice people.

I agree. The livery doesn't look like it will stand out, especially at any airport with dozens of other mostly-white aircraft.

The design is nice. The chosen colors not so much.

Maybe do they forgot the pink paint?

Small touch, already an improvement
But I still prefer curved lines, something like EK has, to a box of bricks.

How is no one talking about the font!? It looks like someone used MS Paint..

Talking about the font on this one would be like talking about a hangnail when someone comes to the ER with stab wounds.

The tail is fine. Not spectacular, but fine.

The titles are straight-up weird. It looks like it was designed by an edgy 13-year-old WhO tYpEs LiKe ThIs.

A truly terrible livery for once. I am pretty open-minded when it comes to airline liveries, but this truly is a monstrosity. Give me a paint brush and two or three colors (but please not such evilly contrasting colors as these two) and I will improve that livery in one minute!

At least it's more modern than their previous livery which was very outdated. This is what Icelandair management is doing to TACV, they're trying to give the airline a fresh and modern overhaul.

Now I don't know which one is worse. The old one or new one.

Ah well, I'm already happy they still exist.

This is one of the ugliest liveries / designs I have ever seen. Have the designers even heard of colour theory?

Branding matters, this is a huge fail in my view.

The old livery wasn't nice but this is just a visual disaster
I love such quirky little airlines but why would anyone in the management agree to something like that
I cannot understand it

I'm thinking a light, faded orange would look good... for the sunset or sunrise. Any way you could try that out?

Awful livery, and the rebrand itself isn't much better. It feels very dated, like a mid-90s holiday airline.

Actually it makes me think of the current Wizzair livery, which honestly isn't that old. Of course it looks cheap, it's supposed to. But to me it sure doesn't feel like mid-90s. Those would have had cheatlines and this one definitely doesn't. Cheatlines are outdated, so at least they did that right.

I was thinking more of the rebrand and colour pallet chosen, the clashing pastel shades and clipart style font are a bit of a throwback to that era.

It reminds be of Taco Bell's mid 90s branding and store interiors but less colourful.

Is it me or does it look like they went to a junkyard and got the spare parts for the back of the plane?

This new livery really sucks. Absolutely boring, bland and random. The font for the titles is also very strange.
I wish they still had the latest TACV livery (before rebranding to Cabo Verde Airlines).

Here's a pic of mine here in FOR, few years ago.

At first I glossed over this thread with displeasure at such a bland scheme but you're very right, I've grown quite fond of their new livery! After seeing their second, red scheme, I got googling and found this article that describes aspects of the rebrand and part ownership by Icelandair: https://worldairlinenews.com/2019/06/03 ... -tarrafal/

wrote:
The ‘Baía de Tarrafal’ colors were inspired by the houses on the island of Santiago (above), a call back to the very characteristic architecture of the capital. The new colors aim to be a gentle mix of the people, the houses and the Cape Verdean culture. Aside from the name on the outside of the airplane, inside the passengers will have a picture of the Baía as well as a description of the area.

All airplanes of the company will follow the same model of inspiration from every Island with the tricolour style. The color palate inside and outside show that change comes from within, in the search to better serve the airline’s customers and to bring Cabo Verde to the world and the world to Cabo Verde.

I think its refreshing, and has a kind of sexy, tropical vintage beach vibe about it, for want of a better description

For those not in the know, the aircraft will be configured (have already?) with 12/180 seats, for a total of 192.

Interesting that they switched to RR-powered 757s.

It's for commonality with Icelandair, in fact some of their aircraft are ex-FI.

I find the red version of this livery less offensive, but the whole concept is awful. Looks like it’s incomplete/rushed.

Great, they somehow managed to make Asiana's livery even worse.

That's what I was thinking. Or factory new panels that are yet to be painted.

Looks like they were trying to recreate AA's livery but ran out of fundings 10%through

It looks like they stuck a bunch of different aircraft parts of differing colors together. This makes just about every Euro-white livery look like a Rembrandt.

I see some heritage here and like the jellybean.

Very linear and blockish, modern and not traditionally airline; but I can give it a thumbs up.

A certain last TWA or British Airways Landor “wow factor” is definitely missing though from this quite OK livery.
