WS1857 OGG 22:30 - 07:27+1 YYC 789 46
Schedule is odd with plane sitting 9 hours at OGG. Maybe YYZ-OGG is coming as well?

Toronto-London (From 23OCT19)
WS003 YYZ 20:40 - 09:00+1 LGW 789 Daily
WS004 LGW 10:45 - 15:22 YYZ 789 Daily

Calgary-London (From 27OCT19)
WS001 YYC 19:40 - 10:20+1 LGW 789 1357
WS002 LGW 11:50 - 14:31 YYC 789 1246
Previously only operated 3x weekly in the winter on days: 257 outbound and 136 inbound.

Additional winter changes on today's schedule update included: YYC-PDX going year-round, YYC-HNL / YEG-OGG switching to 7M8 3x weekly.

The OGG schedule is pretty typical for longer mainland-OGG flights, actually. DFW/PHX/ORD-OGG all run on similar schedules as do lots of inland-HNL flights.

Why would WS put such a premium aircraft on YYC-OGG? This is a leisure low-yield route, seems a waste of their super-premium new business cabin.

If they don't time the connections (a quick turn would put it back in YYC at midnight), then the flight needs to rely on YYC O&D. Even the ORD/DFW/IAD/EWR/ATL-HNL flights don't rely on O&D.

‘cause they’re using it 4 days a week to LGW, leaving 2 days a week for something that fits that flying and 1 day a week for line my aintenance. WS are encountering the AC premium widebody winter syndrome that Jimbo737 has pointed out. Ironically AC are starting to counter this with more winter Southern Hemisphere flying that is reflecting in their positive Q1 results.

This past winter, the outbound departed YYC around 4pm with a 7/8pm arrival in Maui. I think they also had a morning YYC departure and evening return as well?

Also further looking at the schedule YYC-OGG actually increases to 5x weekly in March on the 787.

The MAX operated the 1630 departure to OGG 4x a week, while the B76W was the 0730 departure 2 or 3x a week.

Looks like the B789 is 5x a week starting mid March until end of April, over the spring break season.

No definite source, just experience from what I’ve seen, or been told. The software fix is being presented this week and then it’s up to 6 weeks to certify it, if they do. Probably late Aug at the latest to have them flying.

Again that’s just my opinion. Winter sked doesn’t start until Nov, my point was they’d be flying by then and Westjet isn’t hedging any bets.

What happens to the 767s this winter? All it’s flying seems to be taken by the 787.

Not sure. All I can find so far is YYC-YYZ turns. I think you’ll hear some info this week or next regarding some route changes.

That would make sense. I'm not sure how long they planned to keep them, but with the Max out of service they won't be going anywhere soon.
