Air Belgium A343 (OO-ABB) Operating as BA184 EWR-LHR

Tue May 21, 2019 11:26 pm

I saw an A340 flying out of EWR yesterday evening and I was unfamiliar with the livery. I looked it up on FR24 and was surprised to discover it was an Air Belgium A343 operating as BA184. Does BA have a shortage of long haul aircraft (787 out of service/engine problems)?

I saw it too and wondered the same. I figured it was precisely as you say, 787 issues.

Yes it’s all about 787 being out due to RR issues, and the Air Belgium A343 has been subbing for BA for a few months now, they put it on a particular route for a block of time, so it’s been moving around the system every few weeks currently it’s on the EWR route
Must think up a new one soon, slow moving brain trying to get into gear ;)
