the current korean air safety video is very old

Tue May 28, 2019 6:30 pm

The current safety video of korean air is very old, it is more than 10 years old, it is from 2006, on youtube, I saw the audio of korean air safety video in the 90s, when the a380 was delivered, only updated when was delivered the b787-9, again only upgraded, is already obsolete, has more than 10 years

What safety rules have changed that would render the video obsolete?
We don’t care what your next flight is.

They need to put some K-pop singers in their safety video.

As long as the safety video does it job to address up to date safety information it is fine. Unfortunately not all airlines can afford or are willing to spend the money to make flashy safety videos like NZ every couple of months. Some airlines regard safety video expenditure as part of their marketing budget and will invest accordingly.

In saying that though, the current safety video is not very in-line with KE's current 'go korean' brand campaign.
A world built upon connectivity.

Yes because general Kim Jong Un is not shown in the video.

It it ain't broke, don't fix it!

If there were any safety concerns with taking delivery of a new aircraft the procedures the in the video, it would have changed. Safety is not only any airlines priority, it would be highly regulated within any nation, including Korea.

Cleary KE has its eye set on bigger fish in the pan than a safety video update. All these fancy-shmancy ones from Air NZ or Turkish are old hat, man!

How to buckle a seat-belt hasn't changed since 1947. Sarcasm off.

“In the event of an emergency, please grab your belongings with you, once in hand place phone in selfie mode and then proceed to film yourself during event, once outside the aircraft post a sensationalist title that will make all media outlets want to use your video, and don’t forget to specify that you were not flying on a 737MAX, please ensure your post has a hashtag”

As neat as the advertising type ones can be, it's still a safety video that covers the same basic stuff. Some tweaks to account for more mobile devices could be included but if it still covers the same content *shrugs* It's still perfectly fit for purpose.

And as mentioned earlier. For companies like Air NZ the flashy vids are often done out of the marketing budget. Because they're viewed as primarily safety, but part advertising too.

If that happened it would be as great as Virgin America’s safety video.
