Aircrafts parked at RUH

Tue Jun 04, 2019 6:38 am

HI everyone,

I was recently in Riyadh and noticed around 10-12 Saudia wide body aircrafts parked at RUH with their engines covered. Most of them seems to be 777s. Are they parked because of Ramadan? I was surprised to see so many parked.

They are always there. Ramadan is now over though.

Ramadhaan is not yet over. Almost over.

Thats the major part of the old 77E fleet which was retired over the past 3 years (last time I checked only one 77E was still active). These planes are around 20 years old. Maybe they hope to sell a few frames, but chances are that most will be parted-out and scrapped. One has been sold to the US to be blown up in an anti-terror exercise.

Wow that's some attention to detail to be blowing up Saudi aircraft.
