New European route from YHZ?

Thu Jun 13, 2019 1:44 am

Halifax Stanfield has made both a Facebook and Instagram post today about an exciting announcement to be made on Friday morning. In their Instagram stories they have suggested that this announcement may very well be regarding a new flight to Europe. Will be interesting to see if it is something altogether new or perhaps something as simple as the reintroduction of flights to Iceland next year after this years service was cancelled partly due to the grounding of the 737 Max. I've also wondered for some time now if Air Transat would ever re-start an overseas flight from YHZ now that they have the A321LR. Or could it be the long rumored AC flight from YHZ to FRA? I guess we shall wait and see...

Interesting! My first thought was YHZ-FRA too but I can’t imagine AC would be announcing a route like that yet with the ongoing MAX issues. I’m looking forward to hearing what it is.

Exciting! I'm sorta hoping it's some sort of AC announcement, maybe the rumored FRA route, but with their current operational issues I sort of doubt it. I feel like WestJet might introduce somewhere sunny, such as Portugal on a MAX or an NG. Or it could just be a resumption of the KEF service lol.

And that qualifies as a new flight? ;)

If you read the Facebook post nowhere does it mention a new flight... rather the airport has news.

Hey guess what, it's Friday and Halifax airport Facebook just announced the observation deck is back.

Condor already has a seasonal flight between Halifax and Frankfurt, they'll be starting June 22nd this year. Route is flown on a 767-300ER.

My source was not facebook. It was instagram. In their Instagram stories they posted a question asking what people might think the announcement was regarding. Someone responded wondering if it was regarding a new flight to Europe. YHZ then reposted this persons response along with their own reply to it that said "MAYBE". So in the end they are just letting us all down with something that is not even worthy of an announcement to begin with.
