That does indeed look a hell of a lot better than any contemporary livery of any airline.

Unfortunately the suits of any company would never alow anything as modern as that. Boring, design-less billboards all over.

Don't go completely eurowhite on the fuselage - at least keep some contrast like the red nacelles

Looks like it indeed, except for the billboard logo that seems to be either white or even lighter grey shade.

If you find this white, well... what color is the "airlines" word then?

Here's what I can gather from the leaks so far..

Image

The flags aren't right but just there for placeholder. Can't see what's going on further up the bottom of the nose or under the tail so I've left empty for now!

It's beige/cream. It's especially clear when a SAS aircraft is parked next to an aircraft that actually is white.
The shirts in their former uniform were also in the same beige/cream colour

I like it and it does seem to mirror the hints well.

The one part I do not like is the engines.

Nice work! It does indeed look sharp.

I think they should have made the whole engine blue, or left it the same off-white color as the fuselage. But either way it's gonna look great. Much better than some other modern liveries.

Looks nice, the SAS text near the front seems a bit too faded in my opinion... the colors remind me of Joon, though.

okay..... you all missed a huge point of SAS. The red currently used is to represented Denmark and Norway.
It's the Scandinavian Airline System , not Swedish Airlines Inc. Hence a long tradition of including all
three countries colours.

There are lot of Scandinavians on this forum, we know the meaning. The good thing is that they're keeping the flags on the rear of the fuselage, or at least as symbolic icons representing the flags.

It's not like there's been any yellow on the livery the last 20 years either. If the new livery was blue and yellow, I would certainly understand your reaction.

I think the new livery looks sharp. If that's how it ends up looking.

I'm really curious to see what the livery will actually look like, having never been a fan of the current one. Too many odd and quirky choices that I don't really get, such as a "dirty white" fuselage that looks like bare primer paint, the silver text on top of it which is hard to read, and the orange engines which has no resemblance to any coloring in the Scandinavian flags. Judging from this picture, they only got rid of the orange engines, keeping both the dirty white color as well as the silver logo on top of it.

I know I'm the odd man out here, but I would actually prefer a "boring" eurowhite fuselage with the SAS billboards in blue, as well as all-blue engines with the SAS logo in white on the sides (alternative, keep these predicted engines but add a blue SAS logo). Unless they would revert back to the 80s/90s livery which I (partly due to nostalgic reasons) love. I know that's not gonna happen but I would love to see a retrojet (a320 neo or a350) in that livery!

I agree with other posters that if the engines will get a blue ring around the cowling, they should place a subtle blue SAS logo on each engine as well. To complete the look.

How much longer until every single airline is Eurowhite w/ Dark Blue Tail? Talk about boring times we live in. May as well bring in the New World Order and have one World Airline. The liveries are all the same, may as well just all merge...

I have it on good authority that the pic I posted is the new livery, also has SAS logos on the inner winglet faces and large Scandinavian in dark grey under the belly.

Awesome! Looks good! Matches 100% with the teaser. It also matches with the image of the SAS A350 we've already seen. If you look at the lower, forward section of the vertical stabilizer on the actual photo, there's a bit of white paint. That matches with the swoop. So I think this is it.

So what color is that officially? Has it always been beige like? Kind of smart, the plane will not look dirty, especially with all of the deicing in the Scandinavian area.

Hope SAS will be more readable than their current Scandinavian Airlines titles.

However, it would look even better if the stripe on the engine was angled to somehow be parallel to the curve coming from the tail

Disappointed if the rendering above is the actual livery. It needs another color from the other end of the palette. Too plain. A bit like the missing yellow in the new Lufthansa livery

The whole fleet will be repainted with the new livery, so there will be some years with some overlap.

Yes. It will take some time to repaint those already delivered in the current livery. All the new A320Neos on order will be delivered in the new livery. As far as I know the first aircraft in the new livery will be SE-ROH, a soon to be delivered A320Neo.
All aircraft will be repainted by 2024

Ok, don't know the cost of repainting an aircraft, but wouldn't be financially smart to take this kind of decision before the A320N and A350 were ordered? A bit waste of money to repaint nearly newly painted aircraft...?

The A320Ns in the soon to be old livery will probably be among the last planes repainted. All A350s will be delivered in the new livery.

It probably fits better to do it now. The 737's are going out and more A320Neos are comming in over the next 5 years. The A320Neos were ordered in two "batches". The first batch was ordered 2 years before they ordered the A350s.
Some of the newly delivered A320Neos will be some of the last to be repainted into the new livery, so they won't be that new by then. All aircraft will be painted while undergoing heavy maintainance anyway.
SAS took the decision of a new livery years ago and are using the A350s as added attention

There'll still be some red as far as I've heard. The three flags will be moved to the rear of the aircraft and they'll be significantly bigger than the current three flags on the nose, adding a red touch

Are the Red/Orange Engines to aid the control tower seeing planes when operating in snow, or just a design choice?

I believe that it's just a design choice. There has always been a bit of red on SAS' aircraft ever since they were founded in 1946. Red is a popular colour in Scandinavia, it was used a lot by the vikings and also features is both the Danish and Norwegian flags

To me the engine looks silly, looks almost like they had to get a replacement part from another carrier. Sad about the dropping of red/orange color.

It’ll lose integrity without some red, and I don’t just mean the flag being on the back. Maybe if they alternated the letters in the SAS to resemble the Danish flag (red S, white A, red S). Might look too Danish though.

Titles look good. Sad to have airlines doing with just euro white and another color. It really stood them apart.

Re: SAS new livery?

Looking at the above picture of lufthansa's new livery, am I the only one who thinks SAS uses the very same template of their German friends did?
Other than a blue stripe on the engines and obviously different billboard titles, it looks pretty white with a blue tail section extending all across the rear fuselage, exactly like Lufthansa.
Not bad, but boring: overall a C-, with an F for originality....

You can add soon to be defunct Joon to the list:

I agree with you. Total lack of creativity. Even if there is some in the details, from a distance could you tell one from the other? Weak brand image.

Totally agree with you all. Sadly it seems bland corporate monotony is the future. Capitalism has reached the point where it’s starting to suck the colour and life out of our world, as well as destroying the planet in the process.
