How will the cabin interiors of the new fleet reflect the changes made the external livery? I’m looking forward to seeing inside the A350’s and A321LR’s.

The gigantic size of the silver SAS logo on the fuselage is what does it for me. Any smaller, and it would have been a boring, if overall fairly tasteful, take on billboard titles and blue tail with the ubiquitous swoosh.

I've heard that at least 2 NEO's that are due to delivery have the old livery still and won't get repainted.

Likely only the one that was linked will be delivered in the new livery.


I think tho is normal when a new livery is introduced as aircraft get painted quite some time before final delivery. Other major airlines received planes in the "old" livery as well after introducing a new one.

The renderings look better than I expected but it’s a bit underwhelming and uninspiring. Better than LH and EI though

That is a photoshop-note how the flags are not the new design. The blue on the tail/rear fuselage is also too flat/two dimensional, and the large SAS and engines are not metallic.

Not only too big, but too vague as well. They don't stand out well enough. Standing up close or with ground equipment cluttered around it, it will just look dirty and miscoloured.

- Wrong color on engines (both main cowling color and the ring and missing titles)
- Wrong billboard titles (way too small)

I liked it. But I agree the big silver SAS won't stand out enough. A problem inherited from the current livery.. It is great to see the didn't go for pure white, there are too many of them and it requires frequent cleaning to look good.

While I had preferred real flags, that multicoloured stripe is far better than the current pattern of squares which more looks like test patches to evaluate paint endurance.

The point is that it is in terms of design, overall the same With the blue tail, the titles etc. One can always nitpick and discuss size etc. But the result is pretty much the same boring plain as the rendition above ( wich was not posted by me ). And yes, it looks like Lufthansa. If you check my post you will se that I added the url of video of today. Anyone who puts an image of SAS livery and Lufthansa livery togather will see that there are too many similarities and that it could be the same designer.

Simple, elegant and distinctive. I would agree with the concern about the fuselage logo being a bit hard to read in some light conditions but I think it’s mitigated by also having it on the tail so for me the effect is subtle rather than indistinct.

Somehow I do not quite like silver liveries like Aeroflot, American and SAS. A wasted opportunity to move away from silver. Note that SAS is the only Star Alliance member with a non-white livery. (AV was red until 2013.) Compare that with SkyTeam (KLM, KE, Vietnam and AR are blue, SV is the colour of sand and Aeroflot is silver).

Re: Oneworld, QR is grey (much better-looking than silver, as the belly is white), AA is silver and RJ is chocolate-brown (again, the belly is white). Of course, S7 is green all over.

I would have genuinely liked it if they had an accent of orange, that's all they need to make it a fantastic livery IMO

Some deep red engines a-la the red colors from the Danish/Norwegian flag, possibly with a metallic finish, would have made a major overall improvement.

I think it’s good that the orange is gone though.

From looking closely at the renderings in the official press release, it seems like the fuselage is actually eurowhite, with the big SAS lettering and the engines in some kind of silver/metallic. We just have to wait for the first actual pictures in real lighting conditions.

It’s not eurowhite if you read the description on SAS’ website. It says that it’s an updated gray color.

So when's the Lufthansa merger again?

Lovely, that's a really nice balance between all the previous liveries, showing deep tradition with strong modernity.

Those who only see the Lufthansa livery and can't stop talking about it needs to look further and ask themselves some questions.

Personally, I would have liked to see the stripe of the flags slid up to the front, trailing the big SAS. Same location vertically, same scale, just forwards.

The only thing that looks like Lufthansa to me is the tail design. And the color isn't identical. As for the rest, the engines have a different base color as well as the blue ring and "Scandinavian" logo, the fuselage is a different color than Lufthansa (allegedly) and has a huge "SAS" logo on it, as well as the flag stripes both by the tail and the nose to add more detail.

I get that the tail section layout is very visible, but other than that I see the livery as very different than Lufthansa's. If anything, it looks more like a hybrid between Aeroflot and Joon to me.

That being said, I happen to really like Lufthansa's new livery. And judging by these pictures, I will like SAS even more

There weren't any aircraft at the event in CPH. They haven't been painted yet. They are still in Hamburg and Toulouse.

I noticed that unlike the new Lufthansa livery, the blue extends down onto the fuselage in a curved (not straight) line – that's a nice touch in my opinion.

I also suspect the livery will look less grey and more white in real life.

The silver really saves it from being just another Lufthansa, Aer Lingus or Qantas as the design principle is basically the same.

I think the silver engines and big silver titles give it an edge and really bring it together. I will miss the red though.

For those of you who equals the SAS livery to Lufthansa's..... what is it that you see except for the blue tail.... which by the way isn't the same either if we want to get picky...? might it be the color resemblance? the design is different if you look at the reel footage, labels....colored winglets, engines...

The "Scandinavian" on the belly reminds me of the billboard titles of American, similar font and colour! I love the metallic silver engines and 'SAS', can't wait to see real photos of it!

If only they make the belly paint as the same style of Emirates, red background and a big SAS in the middle. I like the livery but don't think much about the belly design.

The event took place in the center of Copenhagen, far from the airport.

Looks amazing...... HUGE improvement over the current livery

I think it looks amazing. Excited to see some pics of a painted aircraft.
