Blue tail till the bottom, SAS maxy text, national flags colour...for sure this cannot be called eurowhite nor eurogrey.

On my taste, one of the few good ones recently

Hey, they did something with the 'raccoon' mask here. Above the cockpit windows, the upper edge of the 'mask' looks straight rather than curved down in the middle. It doesn't follow the windows themselves here. See what I mean? I must say this makes the nose (not the A350's most beatiful feature normally) look much better, it looks sleeker, more like a Comet/Caravelle, but I am afraid this is just the rendering? Or would the new livery really feature an adapted version of the Airbus raccoon? :bouncy:

While the new LH livery is slowly growing on me, I'm still not a fan. Too bland.
However, this new SAS livery is much better in my eyes. It's clean but not bland. I especially like the silver engine nacelles with the blue ribbons. The silver is a nod to the past when belly, wings and engines were polished aluminium, but in a modern way. I also like the silver 'SAS' script on the fuselage. Good that they kept the classic and iconic "SAS" font, I've always loved that. A really recognisable and timeless logo.

SAS shows that LH could have got it just right with just a few accents here and there, instead of going fully minimalistic.

More progress images from SAS: https://www.facebook.com/SAS/posts/10162390773710788

Including some close ups of the flags, that should settle the matter on the colour of the fuselage.

Despite this being the first new livery in many years that has got a positive reception from A.net, I give this one a semi-thumbs down for one reason: the fuselage is most definitely NOT white, as is clear from the past few pages. I have no sympathy for grey and silver liveries like SAS and Aeroflot.

But for the grey fuselage, this is a very ‘SASsy’ livery (a word used by the airline). The big SAS letters at the front of the fuselage add a lot of character.

AC77X wrote:
I feel like it should be common knowledge by now that the SAS livery is not white. Thats pretty much one of the defining features of their livery.

And very unfortunately so. Every other Star Alliance member has a white livery, without exception. AV was the last to fall in line.

I’m afraid SK has chosen not to move to white, and instead chosen to stick with the atrocious grey/silver/non-white, unlike pretty much every other airline out there: I am a big fan of EI having made the shift to eurowhite.

These pics should settle the matter concerning eurowhite or not... I guess they took a bucket of eurowhite and added a single drop of black. Eh... works for me...

Are you being serious? Look at the stencil itself. That's white. The fuselage is clearly much, much darker in color.

Well, the livery itself is pretty amazing, however the A350 is a horrendously ugly looking aircraft, I would love to see it applied in theirs A333.

Would you call AA's livery for "eurowhite with a single drop of black in it" too?

Calm down, champs. I was exaggerating a little. But you'd be surprised how little black you need to turn a gallon of white paint grey ;)

Looking at the SAS rendering on their A350 again, can it be that the engines are silver colored like the SAS titles or is it indeed the same color as the fuselage?

According to an article behind a paywall on check-in.dk, there'll be 18 aircraft in the new livery by the end of the year. No A340s will recieve the new livery and only a few 737's (probably the -800's they got 6-7 years-ish ago) will recieve the new livery

I guess that the A340,s is to be sold out/scrapped then, more than used to expansion? or if they use them for some years, they will probably look very worn out....

You are welcome to have your opinion, but I really love the looks of A350. Seeing it live made the difference for me. It looks so elegant in real life. One of my best flights where onboard Lufthansa A350. I also look forward to see the new livery on their A330

Thats really sad news about A340 but B737-800 in SAS new livery will probably be the most sophisticated and coolest 737 out there

It's hard to judge from those photos but the silver doesn't look quite as metallic as first thought. It's bound to look better once out of the hanger.

Lufthansa, but a bit better.

Still disappointing, in my opinion. Not impressed at all.
I wonder when people will understand:
Embraer 190 or simply E190, not ERJ-190. E-Jets are NOT ERJs!
Boeing 747-8, not Boeing 747-800. Same goes for 787.
Airbus A320, not Airbus 320.
Airbii does not exist.

It is really smart and I like it a lot, but the only thing I'd fault it on is the forward swoosh of the extended tail. It would have been much more Scandinavian if it were a clean straight line, like Lufthansa. The A350 tail has straight edges, so this doesn't quite fit.

It is very difficult to see the shade of grey they are using in these pictures. Probably dependent on the exact camera white balance set-up, too.

Overall, I think the new livery is good.

I think SAS's fuselage colour has always been one of those that looks different depending on the lighting as well.

I love the new scheme.

Looks amazing!

The silver SAS logo on the fuselage is clearly visible in all light conditions, yet so subtle. Very Scandinavian.

This is the largest aircraft in the SAS fleet since the 747.

After seeing it in real life I actually think I prefer the current livery if only the engines would be a deep red color instead of orange. There’s something tacky about the billboard style logo even if it is subtle

I would adopt the new fuselage color though

Nice but not spectacular.

Just like the current livery, how good it looks and how effective the silver is will depend entirely on the lighting conditions.

It’s definitely fresh but I’ll miss that pop of red.

Still nice but not quite as good as first thought.

It follows the basic design of Lufthansa, Qantas, Aer Lingus etc. but keeps some unique features like the grey fuselage and the silver titles. Unfortunately the sliver just isn't metallic enough, it will look washed out in most lighting conditions because of this.

My thoughts exactly. I was hoping it would be like a silver version of the metallic red that Virgin applies to their aircraft, which looks absolutely splendid imho.

Boring. The tail looks like they just copied the design from Lufthansa, Qantas, Iberia, Aer Lingus, brussels airlines.

SAS just can’t make their titles quite visible enough. Not bad but could be better if the fuselage titles were more visible.

Surprised to see the B737NG will be getting the new livery as well。 Aren't they on the way out?
