Let's see if it gets another doomed basic airline livery with no titles, as with the 747-8 prototype (LN 1435) or a Boeing livery.

Well, in LH's case, "full livery" is actually a relative notion. It will be white, white, white. Some people even say it's not really a livery at all.

That's because it's not. It's just basic titles on white.

By the way, I thought these 777s were being manufactured in CHS not PAE?

CHS is 787
PAE is 747/767/777/787
RTN is 737

Silly question but is that the wingtip position or is it in the "folded" position... Almost looks like it is folded up.

I truly don't understand why people hate LH's new livery so much. It's modern, simplistic, and clean. Judging from renderings, it looks especially sharp on the 777-9. Can't wait to see this one painted.

It is folded.
The plural of Airbus is Airbuses. Airbii is not a word.
There is no 787-800, nor 787-900 or 747-800. It's 787-8, 787-9, and 747-8.
A321neoLR is also unnecessary. It's simply A321LR.
Airplanes don't have isles, they have aisles.

The new livery seems... Leasing company inspired, ready to fly for the next airline with a few decals...

It is folded.

Psolk makes a good point, despite all the noise made over folding wingtips, the amount of wing folded up is tiny.

Technically, no amount of wing is ever getting folded. it’s just the raked wingtips that fold, the wing itself remains straight. That’s why it seems small.

It looks much more impressive in person. It's actually quite a decent chunk of wing.

The LH business class seats look very similar to UA’s Polaris. The window side of the aisle seats look identical with the exception of UA customization. However, LH is configured alternating 1-1-1 and 1-2-1 vs UA’s choice of 1-2-1.

The LH 777-9 business class mock-up looks less dense/cramped and do much better than UA’s Polaris.

Are the seats the same manufacturer and model?

At least it's a step above JAL's tiny title and logo scheme.

The folded part of the wing is 11.5 feet according to this:

The plane in the picture is flight test 3. Line 1581.

EK Is the launch customer but after flight testing is done this flight test plane will go to LH

Because it isn't a livery. It's White paint with the airlines name on it and blue paint and a logo on the tail. It looks okay on shorter airplanes, and looks quite nice on CRJs to me, but on planes like the 747-8, or the 779, because they are so long, you don't actually see any of the livery. This is worsened by the extreme contrast between Navy Blue and White. Because of how overwhelming the White is, your eyes are drawn to the Blue disproportionately. There is no sense of balance in the livery. The old livery counteracted this issue by having a gray belly, which made the livery feel nice and even. The yellow was a tiny portion of the old livery, but the small accent added some warmth to it.

There is nothing objectively bad about White or minimalist. Swiss have a White livery and I think it is lovely. But it has balance. The giant "Swiss" and the red tail make the livery look nice and even. Your eyes feel free to admire the whole aircraft rather than dart straight to one spot on the plane. JALs previous two liveries and to a lesser extent the current livery were great examples of minimalism done right. Honestly I would be surprised if the designer of the Lufthansa livery ever took an Art class in his life.

You know, all it would take would be larger Lufthansa titles and it would actually look pretty decent:

I can't wait to see the wing in full. I never liked the 773/77W as I felt it was anorexic looking but with that huge wing and door spread the 779 looks like an absolute beast.

I think we could see at least a sticker in addition to the conventional livery.

Probably in the same boring style as the "First to fly A320neo" sticker.

I don't believe we will see anything exciting like a hybrid Boeing x Airline livery ala Lion Air or China Airlines though.

So why does the a/c have the additional (optional) door 4 (5 pairs in total)?
The latest renderings of the LH show the 4-door option and it has been reported in some interview, too, if memory doesn't fool me.

Sorry, I had very little tools with me to do it (only ppt), but here is what a Boeing/Lufthansa hybrid livery could look like on the 777-9. Boeing and Lufthansa blue could definitely do a good mash-up. It is of course *entirely* fictional and speculative.

Can we just get over the fact that LH has a new "boring" livery? Everytime an LH plane gets mentioned people here complain about it as if they have lost all their money just because.

It's really getting boring (sic!).

Oh well, regardless of the livery squabbles, anyone who thought they'd never see a LH 777 is now proven wrong.

Well they already have 77Fs so I guess they were proven wrong quite some time ago.

I've seen a few of them in person at the factory, they look small IMHO. They're about the same height as a 767-300ER winglet, on a much larger airframe, so in proportion they look smaller.

I should have been paying more attention, but I don't know: will the first two 777-9 test frames go to Emirates after testing?

True, I was considering the airplanes that people travel in, not the ones their e-commerce orders travel in.
