So it looks like Cebu Pacific A330neo will feature 460 seats and their new A320neos will have 194 seats.... Seat pitch is going to be brutal.

Who needs an Airbus 380 when you can fit 460 people in an A330?

Statistically Filipinos are the smallest people on the planet, for them it's probably not worse than a 180 seat A320 for the average caucasian .....

Which however isn't really comfy either..

Surprisingly large order given the size of their current fleet.
But is the exit limit not 440 ?

Can they increase the door 3 size, and thus get more pax?

Don't believe they can IMHO, I believe even with Cat A door in door 3 you still are limited to 440.

I guess Boeing gets the widebody SV order. Someone on one of the other threads was right about the media report being confusing.

But till now, we have seen (with one exception of 4 conversions) A321 Xlr orders, which have not been expected. And we have already seen several Xlr orders. We know, there are still several "big Airlines" outstanding, few of them are big enough, they will not need the "advertisement" to place an order on the PAS.

Isnt´AirAsiaX the long haul arm of Air Asia... with a whooping 100 A339 on order?

The XLR pretty much, slightly exaggerated, only adds a lot of Water and Siberia from KUL over the A321....

A minor correction, they have 66 A339neo on firm order, the final 34 signed last year are yet to be firmed up. Rumour has it they will convert the 34 for either A321neo, A321neoLR or A321XLR, but time will tell.

Air Asia X has 66 A330neos on firm order. The MOU for 34 more signed at the air show last year was never firmed, and it has been strongly rumored that a portion of that MOU will be converted to XLRs. AirAsia/AirAsiaX doesn’t just fly from KUL...

Airbus are offering an A321LR/XLR launch deal, packaged with the A330NEO.

Will Virgin also order LR/XLR? Or can the offer be shared with Delta?

Looking at the A321XLR specs (long range), will it be game changer because it can do long haul flights as a narrow body aircraft?

I wouldn´t expect it to be a game changer, but having some "real" 3- class 160 or so seater able to go 4000nm would open up routes that all current planes are to big, rotate between widebodies (Summer) and Narrow bodies (Winter) based on demand, if the airline has a suitable failry even northern/southern hemisphere network.

Game changer would have widebode sales dropping of a cliff for anything below the XLRs range, so i´d say it is a rather nice new option for airlines to play with, maybe in the same way the 762ER/763ER war way back when....

The next order by Delta for the A220 (so it is only 5, but they have AGAIN ordered them!) is nice. And these are A220-100 again (and not as everyone has expected A220-300).
Regarding second part, it was long time announced, and seems now to be confirmed. Delta has stated this since more than 1 year? or so, they they also wanted to provide TecOps.for the A220.

Another 5 A220-100?!? Good news

I am waiting, but as it is a poor order year, customers seem to be dragging out negotiations as that is to their advantage. I need to look, but did I miss in the A220 vs. E2 (or Boeing and A32x):
Spirit (I read 25 to 125, all over the map in quantity per various rumors)
IAG: 26 + options (both -100 and -300 in competition)
AF/KLM: about 20

Plus further potential small orders
Although Airbus will now compete with Air Lease
Lightsaber
IM messages to mods on warnings and bans will be ignored and nasty ones will result in a ban.

It looks like Delta is aiming for a roughly 50/50 split on A221/A223 models, likely to preserve maximum long-term flexibility for this part of its narrow body fleet. Since the aircrafts' range is effectively the same, it's a right-sizing decision for a route to use A221 vs A223 metal.

Happy to see the A220 get some orders at the airshow. Hopefully there are more to come before things wrap up.

It may also be a timing thing, since they can get the A221 from Mirabel but A223s (and all US bound A223s for now) are coming from Mobile. Mobile might be booked while Mirabel might have some open slots around their desired delivery dates.
