AeroMexico goes nonstop on MEX-ICN

Fri Jul 05, 2019 4:58 am

As of July 2nd, MEX-MTY-ICN was supposed to become non-stop MEX-ICN, but it appears that the first two "non-stops" had to divert (to SEA, TIJ). Presumably it was for fuel?
Interesting that AM is removing the MTY stop. MEX's high altitude limits payload on ULH flights.

Like trans-continental U.S. and trans-Atlantic flights in winter, westbound flights are always going to be subject to tech stops. Whether its winds, heat, altitude, or a combination of all three, MEX is always going to have to deal with these issues on ULH flights.

It's too bad AM can't make the tech stop at TIJ more profitable and market the flight to the San Diego area...

Well today's flight is non-stop. Hopefully they understand the B788 operating characteristics and use of Russian airspace to make it non-stop.

The diversion to SEA was a medical need, from what I read in a different post...not here.

A couple of weeks back AM was offering cheap prices ($500-700) for the US to ICN/PVG via MEX. That's a long detour so are they having a problem filling their ICN & PVG flights? I know the MEX-NRT flights on both AM & NH are always really expensive ($1500+)

$2500 plus at the moment. Both AM and NH must be seeing superprofits right now.
