The Shed has found a new home

Seems to be for maintenance not to resurrect the plane.
A large turboprop with no pressurized cabin could serve much of western Europe but I doubt they'll use the The Shed as the basis of a new place as it ain't a pretty plane.

Not too many Shorts flying around nowadays as it is.

Interesting how LONGview is acquiring SHORTs. :sly:

Incredible news! Can't think of a better home for the Sheds moving forward. I wonder too if they'd entertain restarting production if there were some special ops orders out there to grab (also makes one wonder about a possible NEO, ) the 360 used all of 1400 hp PT6's shockingly for how big an aircraft it was thanks to slow speed great aerodynamics, I wonder what a Catalyst would do for that plane. Probably all pipe dreams but with Viking you never know...

A large turboprop with no pressurized cabin would be utterly useless in western europe, you surely mean ?

That's an island hopper, or an aircraft to go to and from a tricky place not far away, not a commuter aircraft.

Or my preferred use, to jump out of it, of course !

Put electric motors on these and watch them fly out the door on 150 nautical mile missions. (sanity check: except nowhere to put batteries under floor.)

"I thought these new electric Shorts 360s would be really quiet, but the noise is awful!"

"Sorry ma'am, but that's the flex unwinding from the spool below the plane. It's why we only fly 150 miles max".

I'm guessing that covering the airframe with RATs is not viable! It certainly couldn't make it any uglier.
