"On the 27th of July, the new Air Antwerp Fokker 50 (Leased from Amapola) arrived at Antwerp (ANR) for the very first time ( in Air Antwerp colors). The aircraft, an old VLM frame visited Antwerp for the company's AOC procedure / training and will be staying for a short time before leaving back to Malmö based Amapola (the owner) for some finishing touches prior to it's arrival back at ANR at the end of August."
Brings back memories! I had a bunch of flights on them back when they were in the KLM regional fleet. I even flew on the short running Sheffield airport flight.
I had booked a nostalgic flight on VLM but they fell apart before it happened sadly. I wish Air Antwerp better fortunes.
Those Amapola birds are really showing their age. Maintenance done by switching parts back and forth between different aircraft. You can see them sitting on the south apron at MMX
If KLM wants to serve Antwerp-LCY, wouldn't it make much more sense to just fly a AMS-LCY-ANR-LCY-AMS pattern instead of building up a whole operation with seperate airline from Antwerpen? Don't really see the purpose of this.
