EL AL will be launching flights to Dublin and Dusseldorf from TLV next year, with tickets for both routes becoming available online starting Sept. 4. TLV-DUB commences May 26, 2020, followed by TLV-DUS on June 1.

Wow, just wow.
LY is expanding very rapidly in recent years, and it seems that maybe, also the Q2 reaults (which were positive) might have helped.
I'm almost curtain LY flew to DUS at some point...

They actually posted an $83K USD profit in Q2, much better than the $18m loss at this point last year. Big reasons why are the decreased fuel costs and the fleet replacements of the 767s and 747s with 789s, of which most have been delivered.

They've also loaded schedule to NRT to commence from Mar'20.

Interesting time ahead!

No indication, but since they already fly to MAN using 737s, that could be the expectation for these routes.

Boeing 737, whether it's an 800 or 900ER is still unknown.

Worth mentioning that the long awaited TLV-ORD will be also launched in March 2020 with the 788/789.

I seem to remember LY flew scheduled to DUS for a moment in time, though they've been recurrent under different charter arrangements, including LY5xxxx flight no.s, including mainline metal.

Though their scheduled point of entry into N.R.-W. was Cologne, largely served via MUC, for an extended period of time in the past; one of the few national carrier assets CGN managed to hold.

LY have never flown regular scheduled flights to DUS, the airline may well have used aircraft on Sun D'Or charter flights though.

LY currently fly scheduled flights from TLV to FRA, MUN and TXL, the airline previously served CGN and HAJ.

I'm rather surprised that LY have never previously served DUS but I am sure that it will be a successful addition to the airline's increasing route network.
