Announced today at MAKS 2019 in Moscow: Aeroflot will modify the passenger cabins on 18 of the Russian flagship carrier’s 777-300ERs. Probably to get them in line with the A350s that they will be taking delivery of soon.

First one arrived in 2013, last one as recently as March of this year.

This isn’t your Aeroflot or Russian market of the Cold War- the Russian economy may have taken a battering recently but there are still some pretty damn wealthy Russians who want some luxury, but can’t afford their own jet - Aeroflot needs to keep their product up to date to attract their market.

I believe they have also done a huge amount of work on their brand, whilst not perfect, far improved over the 90s, doesn’t take much for this to slip.

Huh? What's wrong with Aeroflot? You do realize average age of their fleet is 4.7 years which is impressive given the fact that they operate 249 aircraft. On top of that, they have a serious hub in SVO and for a few years now they were aggressively attracting transfers flying between Europe, Asia and North America.

Aeroflot fleet:

B777 x19
B737 x49
A330 x22
A321 x34
A320 x78
SSJ x49

Since they have 19 B777 and 18 will be refurbished, does it mean one won't be refurbished or was it the latest to be delivered to feature a new cabin?

The Aeroflot 777-300ER have a very dense configuration and no 180 degree sleep. I am curious about the new seat configuration. Aeroflot has great service I’m economy also. Even on European flights.

I believe the J seats on their 77W are, in fact, 180° full-flat seats BUT are configured 2-2-2 (not 1-2-1). I think it is the Diamond seat that KLM also uses on their 777 and 747 fleet.

I was not aware of that, but after looking it up, you are right. I just found out that when I use seatguru on my phone it lists Business pitch as 57 inches only, but on they website on my computer it lists first 57 for seat and then 76,5 inches for bed length. That last information do not appear on my phone and I assumed it was only 57, which I found strange. Thank you for making me aware of that.

It's a pleasure. Yeah, that happens. Some info on a desktop website may be missing from a mobile site.

Are they already 3-4-3 on their 77Ws?

Yes, they've always been 3-4-3 on 77W.
