A bad week following a ground collision between an Aeroflot A333 and a Royal Flight B77W earlier this week.

Even for an enthusiast site, is this news?

Any IRROPS is appropriate here.

Now, will it buff out, is this a job for speed tape, or is this a write off? :stirthepot:

Definitely a write off.

But seriously, how did this happen. Did they not retract the canopy before moving the bridge?

Define contact. Did the jetway ram the door, or did the self leveling fail and spring the hinges?

[s] Either way the plane is pop cans with a new, better scarebus available to replace it next week. Aeroflot will see more profit this quarter. [/sarcasm]
Is just me, or is flying not as much fun anymore?

Agree.
Too bad to see a 77W being written off.
But hey, that's life...

Won't buff off; but, is correctable with surgery...

I expect that the door, and possibly the door frame is a write off.

Perhaps the door can be turned into a cool table... :) :)

Have a great day,

Probably auto-level failure. Common on all boarding bridges worldwide

Will this force Aeroflot into bankruptcy? And then force all airlines worldwide to follow? Downfall of all civilization? Just following a.net logic.

No, but you can fully expect the entire world's fleet of 77Ws to be grounded.

That doesn’t take into account the scale of this accident. In fact I’d expect an emergency grounding of all aircraft where the boarding door is on the outside of the aircraft and therefore may make contact with airport equipment. The 767 just got a major boost!

This is a big advantage of the 767, L1011 and DC10 internal opening door design

Can’t tear off the door when it’s not there !
The best contribution to safety is a competent Pilot.
