MD80 flies into retirement with American Airlines

Sun Sep 08, 2019 12:49 am

N984TW flew AAL Flight 80 from DFW to ORD. The aircraft is now headed to a boneyard in New Mexico. The MD80s from American were only at half life, though. Hopefully, another airline will pick them up.

Delta is now the only operator. We'll see you again, old friend... we'll see you again some day.

Actually, I hate to be this guy but World Atlantic Airlines also operates MD80's out of Miami so we will hopefully see the Maddog operate for a long time after Delta retires the type.

Oh. Good! Hopefully some cargo startup or something will grab the AA ones.
