Someone selling a flyable YS-11 on internet auction

Tue Sep 10, 2019 7:52 am

The aircraft RP-C2252 have been put onto the Japanese internet auction site "Yahoo Japan Auction" for public bidding with a start bidding price of 35 Million Yen and an immediatel purchase price of 50 Million Yen. It's said ti be the only operating example of YS-11 other than the two at Japan self-defense force. The aircraft is now located at Sri Lanka, last flight from Manila from June this year. The auction page also include some video, including video inside the cockpit, of their flight to Sri Lanka

It's said that they were going to operate the YS-11 on Sri Lankan domestic routes together with a Japanese tour company, however they changed the plan to use Do-228 which freed up the plane and that's why they're selling them. The price will also include flying the aircraft back to Japan.
When no other countries around the world is going to militarily stop China and its subordinate fom abusing its citizens within its national boundary, it is unreasonable to expect those abuse can be countered with purely peaceful means.

40.000Euro's seems very cheap for a flyable example. The JSDAF should pick it up for spares.
Many happy landings, greetings from The Netherlands!

* Correction: The figures should be 35 and 50 Million Yen. So 300-400k euro. I've converted them incorrectly when writing them out in English.

Interior looks more comfortable and spacious than many current aircraft for short haul...

One of the ugliest a/c I've seen. I rather keep my 40k (well if I had them).
