SY adds MSN-LAS/MCO

Tue Sep 10, 2019 3:09 pm

Sun Country adding to MSN

Looks like both LAS/MCO start Dec 19 2x a week

It's time for a getaway. We're thrilled to announce two new direct routes from Madison: Las Vegas and Orlando.

Low frequency, but this basically replaces PVD.

I was thinking the same thing in regards to PVD replacement.

Just 2x is a significant constraint on vacation planning but both LAS and MCO ought to be relatively high demand destinations from MSN. Skip the drive to MKE.

SY must have borrowed the dart board from F9.
Remind me to send a thank you note to Mr. Boeing.

MSN is a decent-sized market with a ton of spillage to MKE due to high fares. Flying 737s from MSN to warm places in winter seems like a fine way to capture some customers who would otherwise just drive 1.5 hours and fly WN to these destinations.
This is my signature until I think of a better one.

Well said. None of SY’s current MSN routes are dart board. It’s literally miserable cold to Florida/LAS flying. Now MSN to say SDF would be dart board.

Smart move, though I would be hesitant to book. In the event of an IROP, you would have little recourse as there would not be any later flights for rebooking. Same goes for flat tire situations.

I would not call it a dartboard, clearly the MSN-TPA/RSW did well and they want to try LAS and MCO. For SY that's turning into a nice like seasonal spoke, that's working.

Awesome! Two easy destinations Wisconsinites love. Great for the Madison area and the western part of the state. Sure makes it easier to stay in MSN and avoid the headache that is the drive to MKE with all the horrid construction.

PVD ends 10/29. These routes begin 12/19. Not sure one has anything to do with the other but congrats to MSN on expanded SY Service.

19th start appears like an stl replacement no?
