DL9735 today, A350 ATL-LGA?

Thu Sep 26, 2019 6:57 pm

https://flightaware.com/live/flight/DAL ... /KATL/KLGA

What is the purpose of this flight? Obviously LGA could probably handle the A350 to some extent or they wouldn't be flying the route. Or is it a FlightAware error?

It’s already past departure time, right? DL9735 isn’t showing up on Flightradar24 and FlightStats

Im guessing it's a Flightaware glitch. I don't think an A350 could safety operate from LaGuardia without large weight restrictions.

As far as I can see there are no DL A350s on the ground in ATL at the moment. Also, none scheduled to arrive anytime soon. The next is N513DZ due from ICN as DL 26 at 7:13pm which will depart to ICM as DL 27 at 12:20am.

It’s not just weight, the A350’s wingspan would cause issues at LGA. The 764 is the largest plane that can fit there.

DC-10's L1011's and A300's used LGA back in the day

I tried to attach a screen shot from Sabre but it won't paste - so I've played with the spacing so you can see it better. Under ACF - which is aircraft - it shows a 359.

Nor the weight.

Flight disappeared from Flightaware. Likely a FLIFO test/training dummy flight that Flightaware picked up.

What's the wing span of 764 vs A350 is there that much difference? And I do know LGA's over water deck's can handle 363,000 with a DC-10 foot print,

The A350’s wingspan is about 42 feet wider than the 764’s.
