UA23 EWR-DUB returning back to EWR.

According to FlightAware: https://flightaware.com/live/flight/UAL23 Flight UA 23 From EWR-DUB is returning to EWR. Is this an onboard emergency.

According to United app, new departure time is 2am due to a technical issue

I guess that depends on what the fluid leaking was. Fuel, potable water, oil, hydraulic fluid, coolant... all have different consequences.

It was a fuel leak. Plan was to get it back to EWR and have maintenance take a look. If it was just a faulty indicator, they would defer it, refuel, recater and then depart. If it was indeed a fuel leak, the flight would be canceled due to no available aircraft to swap into. 2 segments today to DUB. UA2807 departs at 1900 L on a 767-400.
