Miami Air new livery

Fri Oct 11, 2019 9:16 pm

Looks a lot like another airline's recent new livery. At least it doesn't have billboard titling like almost every other airline on the planet.

Miami Air should have done something with these colors and airline title font:

Yeah my first thought was that it looks identical to United. Would be shocked if they don't get a visit from a few lawyers in Chicago.

Is United aware of this?

You would think for an airline that was based in Miami that they would have a more vibrant color scheme.

I would love either a return to the retro Miami Air paint scheme from the '80s or a Silver like pink livery

They have actually had that globe in their logo for years, with the teensy airplane circling it, but haven't applied it like that in a livery before, obviously.

A globe is pretty-generic; hard to imagine a successful lawsuit. But that doesn't mean that United won't try, or that the cost of defending such a suit might lead to a redesign being the better part of valor.

Queue the "United is buying Miami Air and restarting the MIA hublet" speculation LOL

They actually have applied it in their previous livery but it wasn't obvious because it was green and barely resembled a globe on the tail. Now it is identical to UA's new livery.

As I mentioned before it would have been to use their old purple and green livery is inspiration for their new livery.

Apparently paint applicators stopped carrying colors outside of white and blue these days.

Has the investigation to the runway overshoot been finalized? Might this be their motivation to change the livery. I flew them once from Fiji to Samoa and thought this is one bad mantained plane on the inside.

To me it looks like a mix between UA and a business jet.

Oh geez that is atrocious and such an CO/UA rip off if I’ve ever seen one. They couldn’t do some fun tropical Livery and colors that represented Miami/South Florida? I mean come on...another generic white and blue plane.....

I think the days of imagination are over. We’re still remaking 737’s, Hollywood movies are all re-boots, music is all remixed beats and melodies.....and you can go on and on.

Saw it landing at MIA today and my first thought was that one of United’s vendors had seriously botched a repaint. Imagine our surprise to see it operating under a Biscayne call sign.

Easily the worst new livery of 2019 and it looks even worse in person.

I think thats the idea, its not a really customer facing airline so it makes sense to be somewhat understated.
