BOAC VC -10 The Crown Season 3 trailer

Tue Oct 22, 2019 4:56 pm

Pretty cool- a glimpse of a BOAC VC-10 at the 1:00 minute mark
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vLXYfgpqb8A

Perhaps one of these aircraft used as the prop?:

I think a few of the planes used in this have been at Duxford.

Has the “Cunard” title been removed from the Duxford VC-10?
Just because I stopped arguing, doesn't mean I think you are right. It just means I gave up!

This sort of thing, aviation movie props, is typically terribly contrived as we know. At least someone at production had a good sense of reality.

As far as I'm personally aware and going by fairly recent photos the CUNARD title is still present on the preserved VC-10 at the Imperial War Museum AirSpace at Duxford.

What is also cool is the English Electric Class 37 Diesel loco at the 0:57 mark.... they're still being used as a mainline loco 50+ years after being built....

Yes -- Especially TV.
I can't tell you how many times I've seen the old Boeing stock footage of the original 747 in a situation where a character was supposed to be flying from, say, New York to Boston

From the youtube video:
„This country was still great when I came to the throne, all that‘s happened on my watch is that the place has fallen apart“

Pretty much sums it up.

I'd say it was ZA150 at Dunsfold. They have the steps there. https://twitter.com/paternosta/status/1 ... 5689960449

Looks to me that it is the Duxford one as definitely in BOAC colours ZA150 is painted RAF grey

Also they are showing boarding on the starboard side, very useful at Duxford as its open airfield that side, if they filmed the Port side they would get the Belfast truss hangars as a backdrop

I asked the ZA150 project leader and they confirmed it was the aircraft used. The BOAC livery was CGI.
