With an average LF at EZE around 95%, effective 18/12 and right in time for summer travel in Argentina, Ethiopian will increase its presence at Buenos Aires EZE from 3 to 5x week. Flights operated with the 787-8.

ET 506 ADD 09:50 GRU 16:00 788 13567
ET 506 GRU 17:00 EZE 19:55 788 13567

ET 507 EZE 21:30 GRU 00:05+1 788 13567
ET 507 GRU 01:30 ADD 19:30 788 12467

There's a twitter handle that posts each flight's LF and it's always high. Do you know if the flights into and out of EZE are mostly filled with SAO originating/bound passengers, that is, those not continuing on to ADD?

Those LF% are for total # of paxs, regardless of if they descend at GRU or ADD. I'd think that from EZE there are more folks traveling on ET to GRU than to ADD & onward but I don't know the actual breakdown.

There are two spotters/enthusiasts from Argentina that regularly tweet about random flights & LF arriving or departing Argentina.

Who are their main customers on these flights? What markets are they covering? Is there really that much demand between Africa and South America?

Many people fly Ethiopian from Brazil to reach the southeast of Asia destinations such as Bangkok, Kualua Lumpur, India, Hong Kong, Manila and Singapore.

It's cheaper and faster than going through Dubai or Doha, since Emirates and Qatar (and Etihad years ago) got the most pax from South America to the Southeast Asia.

Many connections! Remember that ET is a TK or EK type airline but in smaller size, the most popular connection is TLV-ADD-GRU-EZE, the destination network of ET is very wide and that allows you to reach destination that depend on the demand of ADD Another example is its ADD-CPT route that operates with Boeing 777-300ER due to the number of connections made BRU / DUB / VIE / GVA / MXP / FCO-ADD-CPT and makes ET operation profitable in CPT

Thank you both for your replies. I completely forgot about TLV and their rather strong demand to Latin America.

China is also a popular destination from both EZE and GRU on ET. Both cities have thriving Chinese expat communities and Ethiopian is a fast way to get back to their homeland - and no need for either a US/Canadian/Schengen visa to transit via those countries/regions for Chinese passport holders.

Great news given that EZE was reduced from 5X to 3x earlier this year, so it's great to see a resurgence of demand
