Anybody knows what are their plans for their remaining 332s ? Flew on one of them yesterday and the plane looked like something from the late 90s early 00s. Broken seats, broken out of this world ptvs, just not something you would expect from a strong European airlines.

I think they are retiring this year as they have 8 more Neos coming next year. I flew them once. It was like the Air France 380. Very poor.

Hum no. While AF’s 380s are indeed outdated you can’t compare the 2. Some of AF older 77Ws (the one they send to the Caribbean from ORY) are even more outdated than their 380s and I still wouldn’t compare them to TPs 332s at least to the one I was on CS-TOG, cant speak about the others).

CS-TOG is the last A332 with the old cabin and should be retired until the end of the year. The remaining 7 x A332 on the fleet have the cabin retrofit done.

Not a lot of ties for Portugal and South Africa. Mozambique is a different story.

Uh? The Portuguese have only been in South Africa since the 15th century LOL It's the largest Portuguese diaspora in Africa, larger than both Angola and Mozambique.
There's a reason why TAP flew to JNB for 49 straight years, before it ended the route in 2011.

They should try Sao Luis, it is close to Lencois Maranhenses park and at 3 times a week might work, seasonally.

Well yes, South Africa was never a Portuguese colony so is lacks significant business ties if that's what you were referring. South Africa always had a significant Portuguese population and more so after the independence of Mozambique and Angola, when a lot of the Portuguese from those former colonies migrated to South Africa. Back in the day SAA actually had a significant base in LIS. They served JNB-LIS alongside TAP and used LIS as a "hub" to various other European cities. This was in part due to the overflight ban imposed by some African countries on both TAP and SAA, which made LIS the first European city en-route from SA to Europe. Also the reason why SAA had the SP's.

I hear they are going to start João Pessoa. It will be 3 times from Lisbon. Is this true?

I don't know if it's true, but certainly possible and the next logical step. The whole area has a lot of potential and thanks to TAP it's now easily accessible from Europe. Also, I can see them flying to São Luis, the gateway to Lençois Maranhenses park.
